I am dying to know too. I remember Shaq hating Eddie, when they were both Lakers. Didn't Shaq tell Heat's Management to trade Eddie?
ok here is what i am reading about why shaq hates eddie...lol
this is from another site
"Kobe lived in Philly and practiced with the Temple basketball team when he was in high school.
The star player at temple at the time.... Eddie Jones.
Kobe learned a lot by playing against such a good college player like EJ.
I was really pissed that EJ got traded."
Shaq is a moron. it's entirely his fault his team is currently out of the playoffs and he's running his yap like some big star? at this point Shaq youre the LVP you have done absolutely nothing all season and you're gonna talk trash about Eddie? at least hes PLAYING!
The Lakers were clearly a team on the rise with the tandem of O'Neal and teenage superstar Kobe Bryant. However, the 1998-99 season was marked by nearly constant change within the Lakers. Long-time Lakers point guard Nick Van Exel was traded to the Denver Nuggets after a dispute with O'Neal. His former back court partner Eddie Jones was packaged with back-up center Elden Campbell for Glen Rice to satisfy a demand by O'Neal for a shooter. Coach Del Harris was fired and former Chicago Bulls forward Dennis Rodman was signed. The result was no better as the Lakers were swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the Western Conference semi-finals.
I swear there is a double standard when it comes to the Snaq. Can anyone name ANY other player with THIS MANY public beefs but is still given a pass from the media due to his "humor" and "loveable charm?"
And try this thought experiment: Replace Shaq's words with any other superstar and imagine the reaction if that person were to publicly imply they didn't want a certain player. How would you react?
(e.g. Kobe: "nah, we really don't need Webber, I just gotta pick up my scoring a bit. "
KG: "naw naw, I got this, you don't need to be brining in no Iverson, aight? Wait wtf am I talking about..."
