hawkfan is starting to rub some people the wrong way
Default Boomer Esiason discusses Kobe Bryant's and Carmelo Anthony's situation

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vid...ted/?eref=sihp

He says he is a die hard Knicks fan, but he wants Melo to join Kobe in L.A.

Yes, yes it is. Especially if Gasol & Hill are on the team.

The mutual respect/friendship between Melo & Kobe would overcome any foreseeable chemistry issues.

Melo wouldn't need the ball in his hands as much as he does in NY to be effective playing with Kobe.

Of course alot rides on the type of player Kobe is coming off of injury.. Kobe & Melo both command double teams, especially in the post, teams will be hesitant to double Melo or Kobe with the threat of the other being left wide open on the wing.

Melo is also an excellent catch and shoot player and has played some of his best ball when surrounded by shooters and ball handlers, Kobe would create a ton of open looks for Melo, who will feast on open looks and single coverage in the post.

Melo is one of the best rebounders at his position, a front court of Melo, Gasol & Hill would provide good spacing while also being a dominant rebounding group.

Plenty of teams do fine with 2 ball dominat high volume players, Kobe & Melo would figure it out especially since they'd already be on the same page. Alot would depend on who they put around them tho.

Re sign Gasol & Hill & fill the roster with D & 3 guys.

Pipe dream of

Patrick Beverly/Farmar
Kobe/would need a above average back up.
Melo/Ariza
Gasol/?
Hill/Emeka

That team IMO would work well together. Although I think we would need another shooter.

Kobe is a decent playmaker but he isn't Chris Paul or Lebron where he's gonna be getting Melo wide open looks. Especially at this age. LeBron/Melo would be a good combo. Kobe/Melo wouldn't.

You think Melo would actually wanna play with LeBron? Melo would be the 3rd top 15 player that LeBron would turn into a spot up shooter. Melo not tryna be in Miami just standin in the corner watchin LeBron dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble and the pass wen the shotclock low, you buggin.

LeBron makes himself (his own stats) better, NOT other players...Wade, top 3 player before Bron, now he a glorified spot up shooter, same with Bosh. Wade and Bosh are now considered role players by the media.

Meanwhile, any player who joins Kobe becomes better, see Gasol's whole career and NBA relevance take a 360 upwards when he joined Kobe.

Melo and Kobe would be great together.

It depends on the type of player. Wade is redundant with LeBron to an extent that's why his numbers went down. Melo is not. Melo can spot up and nail 3s, Wade can't. Look at Mo Williams you honestly think LeBron didn't make him better?

Very true. Many NHL/Hockey fans seem to be salty that the NBA is more popular. Boomer is a Knicks fans though...he just hates Melo and was on the Linsanity train.
