I don't like the tone of anyone not named Ian Eagle or Mike Fratello about the Nets on the radio or tv lately, it's too rah rah. The radio guy said early in the Celtic game (no exaggeration) anytime the Nets step on the court, it's likely Blatche is the most talented player out there. (Not for the nets, in general). REALLY?
i'm going to use all my personal influence to get this whale shark elected the next head coach of the nets. see how all the little fish swim in formation?
Avery is a pretty shitty coach so Im not surprised. It doesnt really matter who they hire because they are going nowhere. I remember the first couple weeks they were decent and their fans were all hyped about the team
Avery wasn't given a fair shot and I feel bad for him. 28 games is not a fair assessment and by firing him you are basically blaming him for the struggles when it's 99% Deron's fault for sucking complete ass out on the court. Although I was displeased with Avery at times, he needs at least half a season to gel this roster together. Backlash in the NBA has been enormous with even LeBron question why a coach of the month in November gets fired in December. I'm questioning it too.
If the Nets didn't finish in the top 6 seeds in the East by seasons end. I'd say, it's ok to just cut ties. But The guy didn't even get 2 months with a brand new team.
In the full month he had, he won Coach of the month, something changed the chemistry (Brook's injury and Deron's mood) and they struggled. The Clippers had a stretch like this last year after Billups went down, but they fixed it. Avery is a much better coach than Del Negro, and I think they'd have figured it out.
This firing is a bigger disgrace than Mike Brown's 5 games
