Player 2, because they were the focus of the defense and didn't have Shaq.

PS: I didn't even know you was talking about Lebron vs. Kobe anyways...

Are you frustrated because the Kobe vs Lebron debate is taking attention away from the fresh topic you wish to talk about, the Kobe vs Shaq feud?

I don't see evidence of either player's individual playoff stats being impacted based on the strength of their teammates in their history which is why I did not include it. They both have shown the ability to put up great stats with or without all star/HOF teammates.
So one player having a 1st ballot HOF center at his peak as a teammate and the other player having 0 All-Star teammates doesn't mean anything? Right.

This wasn't just "any" point in their history. It was an early stage of their career at a young age getting their first taste/experience of a deep playoff run. So yes, in my opinion, things like role on the team, teammates, position, minutes played, etc. means something.

Kobe's points, assists and rebounds would likely be higher without Shaq. His efficiency would likely be lower.

Lebron's points, assists and rebounds would likely be lower with Shaq. His efficiency would likely be higher.

Ok, and since we're using hypotheticals....

Kobe, at that age, likely doesn't make the Finals without Shaq. LeBron, at that age with peak Shaq, probably takes the Spurs to 6 or 7 games if not win a championship.

But if this is only about the stats, then I change my answer to Player B.

Obviously A because they won a championship, but you have to take things into context. Stop acting like the typical hater/groupie on this board and try to think things through.

The reason we don't give credit kobe over lebron in this case is because one player is leading his team and the other is a 2nd option with the most dominant player in the the nba as the 1st option and teammate

when all 5 defenders are solely focused on you because you are the only threat, naturally your life will be much harder than someone who has the MOST DOMINANT EVER to take pressure off the load

This. If it was any other player besides Kobe at that moment in time they'd have no problem choosing player A. Newsflash giving Kobe credit does nothing to diminish Lebron.
