I am thinking the Chiefs are giving away a 2nd or 3rd for Alex Smith, so you can erase Geno Smith going #1 overall

I heard about that as well and I don't think any team is offering a 2nd or 3rd and why would they? Everyone knows that San Fran won't keep Smith due to the $8.5mil salary so why would anyone offer anything in the first or second?

Jacksonville seems sold with Gabbert for another year, NYJ can't afford another QB on their roster, San Fran won't trade him to a divisional rival. So that really leaves Kansas City and Cleveland as realistic trade spots.

I think he'll go for something like a 4th rounder

Considering what other QB's have been traded for, the 3rd rounder from KC seems fair....almost a bargain. You can win with him at quarterback if you have a good football team around him.

I think the Cards are also interested in Alex Smith and in the bidding, but most say that they are unlikely because they are in the same division...but they can still drive the asking price up

One thing that is apparent is the thought to be premier pass rushers of this draft....

Jarvis Jones
Demontre Moore
Werner
Mingo

All had some interesting combines.

Jarvis Jones has the potential to fall due to a spinal condition. Some teams reportedly wouldn't pass their physical.

Demontre Moore ran a terrible time and benched a really low number and just looked bad. Didn't help that Mike Mayock kept saying he wasn't a top 10 pick.

Werner wasn't that athletic. Mayock was going at him all day saying he was a late first to early second type of talent, instead of the top 5 he has been seeing. A number of other scouts haven't been as high on Werner either, and that was pre-combine.

Mingo did himself some favors with how he ran and how fluid of an athlete he is.

Ansah did himself wonders with this combine. He ran real fast (pretty much as fast as Mingo I think) and he moved extremely well in both the Dline drills and LB drills. He's not going to get out of the top 15 now.

I think Leon Sandcastle (Deion) actually ran a 40 today...

https://twitter.com/DeionSanders/sta...78961409454080

It looks like he raced Rich Eisen, who runs it every year...so that we can laugh

I want to know what his time was!

Geno Smith was never going #1 overall. There's nothing about him that indicates he's worthy of that spot. I don't believe there's a QB that goes higher than double digits.

Geno is not even a better prospect than Barkley who they can probably get with their second pick. I don't think Geno is that much better than some one like Tyler Wilson. Barkley and Wilson were being touted as first round picks last year with Barkley being projected to go #3 overall right behind Luck and RG3.

I'd rather grab Barkley in the second and let him get groomed.

Dee Milliner cemented his status as a top 10 lock and likely top 5 pick with a great 40 time.

Amerson also ran faster than expected. Gratz also ran an unofficial 4.35.

On the flip side Jonathan Banks was super slow.

It's an important evaluation tool for corners.

Not at all. Drills are more important than 40 times. The difference between a 4.45 and. 4.35 40 is what? Think on that. What isRichard Sherman's 40 time? 4.45z what's Eagles DRC 40 time? 4.3. Sherman is better. Now ask yourself why

I said it's an important tool, not the only factor in evaluating a corner.
