Too many defensive deficiencies on this team to think that Avery Bradley is a huge boost. He'll certainly help, but the big problem is teams scoring in the paint at will against us right now. KG can't guard em all and the other bigs/power forwards just haven't been up to the job.

What about Sullinger? He's been very nice hasnt he?

Ton of potential but he's a rookie and he makes rookie mistakes. Very foul prone, justifiably or not, and sometimes a bit slow-footed. He's got a great bball IQ, though...the vets love him and his work ethic.
When both healthy I think Iman Shumpert is a better defender than him. But it's certainly debatable. Both are elite perimeter defenders.
I was going to say the same exact thing. The thing is, we haven't seen Shumpert this season due to injury so I didn't want to outright call him the better defender. I think they are both elite perimeter defenders as well, and I find it refreshing to be honest. I feel that defense doesn't get focused on enough by many players anymore and its great to see how consistent and hardworking those two are on the defensive end.
So far this season, I wouldn't consider what Rondo said to be a stretch at all. Avery is up there with the best of them in that regard.
Wade isn't much taller than Bradley. If I wasn't phone posting I'd link to a bid of Bradley blocking him. Google it. Kidd is mainly a three-point shooter these days. JJ is a concern but his team is struggling almost as bad as the Cs. The current NBA is full of small backcourts and smallBall line ups.
I remember that. Bradley was playing amazing defense on dwade, he is a nightmare for every sg in the league

Shumpert's probably more versatile, but he fouls too damn much. Bradley seems to have better defensive instincts. Personally, I'd take either (or both!) and I can't see why any team wouldn't want a couple of young defensive studs.
He will help with his cuts to the basket and defense, but he's not going to turn the season around. This team needs a rework on its offense and its defense to be any threat in the playoffs or even make the playoff cut.
He's deserved his reputation. His defense has always been his strong suit and it was the only thing giving him minutes.
He'll certainly be a boost on perimeter D, as well as speed and athleticism. But that's not the biggest problem for the C's... interior D/rebounding, and offense. they need a quality big really f'n bad. That backcourt of him and Rondo is a tough one to play against for any team.
