However , I've seen him get snuffed outta big games often it seems.

Mayb he IS a true Cowboy
the last Skins game was the first time I have seen someone coach around him...the pistol really did a number on him...props to Shanny for that

that said he was playing very injured...if it wasn't a must win game he would have sat out

Ware could only run forward and had trouble stopping or changing direction in that game. The announcers were like "wow he's so badly fooled he cannot stop." He couldn't change direction at all. He clearly looked injured but they didn't say it. I assume his knees were ****ed up.

^^^ his unofficial sack numbers...67 & 68 combine for 50

and despite what niko says sacks are not an overrated stat for pass rushers...it's a pretty telling stat of how much pressure a player outs on QBs...I wish QB hurries and pressures were recorded better though, but sacks works good enough.

and I think Ware will retire with around 180 sacks

if he were to have 17-20 sacks the next 3 years then I think he would have a shot at the all time record.

Good stuff! I did some searching and found this archived page:

Ware will easily be a first ballot hall of famer. I'm not saying he was better than LT cause I never saw that man play but I sometimes get the feeling that people overrate older players and underrate the new players. It all evens out after time though

Ray Lewis is the best I've ever seen though

that is happening here for sure...LT is like a mythical legend in the heads of some people but in reality Ware is bigger, faster, puts on just as much pressure if not more...probably better at run D, etc...he is certainly comparable to LT, infact Parcells compared the two when Ware was drafted

when Ware retires people will start to come around on him being in talks like this...still too early for many now

I think LT is a bit overrated. I think people seem to ignore that he played in one of the best linebacking corps of all time, who did a great job of hiding his deficiencies.

I also think Ray Lewis is overrated a great deal. Fine player, but he's not among the top 5 defenders I have seen in my lifetime.

Reggie White
Lawrence Taylor
Charles Haley
Derrick Thomas
Deion Sanders
Roy Woodson
Ronnie Lott
Greg Lloyd(*weeps for what could have been*)
The criminally underrated Cornelius Bennett
Kevin Greene
John Randle
Samurai Mike

Were all better than Ray Lewis. I might throw in Darrell Green as someone who was also has an argument for being better.

LT is not a mythical legend, i saw every game he ever played. You didn't, you're too young. I know 100% you didn't because you started pulling pass rushing stats like LT lined up in a three point stance on the line and did nothing but rush, like he was good at nothing else. There will never ever be a time when Ware is compared favorably to LT, it's utterly asinine, it's like trolling level stupid to say.

Can you be just a tiny bit fair at times? I know this is before your time too, because super homer you are and i never hear Aikman/Smith/Irvin from you and LT was good prior to those guys. If you saw those guys we'd have Aikman all time QB threads.
