Seeing LT play one time later in his career or seeing every game he played in his prime is not the same thing. I'm 39. I can remember fully games he played, situations. I probably remember more about some of the east teams like Dallas and Washington and their history than some of their fans do now who are repping their teams silly.

yep, just about anytime a CB makes a tackle it means something went wrong...

either

A. the CB let the WR catch the ball

or

B. the LBs suck and let the RB get past them

there are exceptions to this obviously, like a CB blitz (which is rare unless you're Charles Woodson), or when someone catches behind the line of scrimmage via Sheldon Brown hitting Reggie Bush...but 99% of the time a CB making a tackle is a bad thing.

I consider Asante Samuel to be one of the best CBs in the game today and he is an even worse tackler than Deion was.

Deion was amazing though. People like to say that QB's keep away from Revis's side. They kept away from Deion's HALF.

If people dont care for Deion lousy tackling that fine. Just makes me chuckle how they care so much about how many negative yards Barry Sanders has. Even tho his yards per carry was elite. And he was on pace to break Walter Paytons record before any RB at the time. But lets highlight negative yardage and sweep how Deion was weak at run support under the rug. Makes sense. Funny how people nit pick how they see fit.

A CB being a good tackler helps a team in run support. Its as simple as that and Deion was a lousy tackler. That was his knock that he would not help your defense in run support. Great cover corner, weak run support corner. You look at defenses that play the run well? Check out their CBs and tell me if they are weak at run support.

Tillman/Jennings among the top 5 CB duo in the NFL, arguably the top duo both are good in run support/tacklers. Yet thats a bad thing right even tho the Bears defense was stout until Brian Urlacher their inside leader got injured among others.

Ronde Barber played on great defenses in TB and he too was a good tackler/run support corner. He had high amount of tacklers. Bad thing huh? No, its not 99% the case. And yes there are situations where if your secondary is racking up more tackles than your Lbs? Its a bad thing. But to sit here and judge that is difficult. So how can you pull 99% out of your ass?

Champ Bailey is a good tackler/run support corner. I wonder where Denver ranks vs the run.

I think it is more like 99.9% a CB tackles on a blitz...it's super rare

how many sacks does the average CB have?...none

You said 99% of the time a CB makes a tackle its a bad thing. No its not.

Why do you find many ways to spin that Deion being a bad tackler wasnt a big deal/overblown. Yet you mention negative yards whenever Barry Sanders excellance is examined? And you make that out to be a big deal when in reality its not?

Barry getting his team in trouble with negative runs certainly was a big deal IMO

if a team has good run D it is because of the front 7...and also Strong Safety

CBs are the very last on the totem pole of who should be tackling

I dont know where 5ypc rank but it has to be high. 5 and above for a career is elite given you put in yards (10).

Yet Barry negative yards hurt the team. And Deion poor tackling never did. Ok.

You are entitled to your opinion. I honestly dont bash Deion for being a lousy tackler. Its a knock, a flaw in his game keeping him from being complete. As far as cover corners goes? He was the best to ever do that imo. I just dont see why you cant just agree with what Deion Sanders was and wasnt. Keep it simple. Great cover corner, bad run support corner. It is what it is because having said that doesnt tarnish, diminish what he means to the game of football at all. He's in Canton with the scarf over his head.

When it comes to other great players you have no problem nitpicking at stuff. When it comes to Deion? You do. I just find it hilarious.

because Deion's lack of tackling never hurt any team he was on, UNLIKE Barry running backward.

Barry finished a playoff game against the Packers with NEGATIVE YARDAGE in total...you can't tell me that didn't hurt the Lions.

Deion won 2 rings, was a part of elite level defenses...his tackling wasn't an issue in terms of winning...IMO the only reason it is even looked at was because of his two stupid comments on the subject that rubbed people the wrong way.

This is exactly why AP ran over the Packers defense the first two meetings. The secondary missed tackles.
