I still don't understand how a team that is still desperately trying to win over its local fanbase (the Raps) can justify putting games like this on Raptors TV.
The vast majority of the audience in this area (greater metro Toronto) is not going to pay money to see this team play (on TV, especially). While the city is finally starting to TALK aboot the Raptors, it is still MOSTLY basketball fans who are paying close attention.
Looks like I will be listening to the game on the radio.
The Raptors never lack fan support, consistantly one of the best fan bases every year despite terrible teams over the history of the franchise, it will be a packed house everytime a good Raptors team plays in the Air Canada Center. They practically sold it out when we were the worst in the league. Now with an exciting, young, good team - the place will be one of the most hostile environments to play in the NBA.
Raps gotta run with this opportunity. Even if Atlanta is playing well of late, you would hope they can get over .500 since God knows when. Besides, we have a bunch of good teams in Feb so get your wins now.
