At least with Volquez there's a chance he'll have a dominant outing. Although it's just as likely he'll get lit up.

Reds with a runner one first and no outs. Dusty has Brandon Phillips bunt and for some reason with two outs and a runner on third Heisy tries to bunt as well?

With Kameron Loe, I think the only option is "get lit up".

But the Dodgers and Pirates lost, so me bitching about Fredi skipping Teheran to start Loe was pretty much useless.

James Shields has been getting the short end of the stick all year. He's pitched less than 6 innings only twice, and never less than 5 innings. The Royals are averaging just 2.76 runs per Shields start. The Royals have scored 2 or fewer runs behind Shields in 15 of his 29 starts and 0 runs in 5 of his starts. In his first 15 starts, the Royals averaged just barely 2 runs in his starts.

Just recently have the Royals started scoring behind Shields. His last 5 starts, the Royals have put up a combined 20 runs behind him. His first 24 starts, they only put up a combined 60 runs.

That sums up his Rays career as well. He's been very unlucky.

Reds/Dodgers, Cardinals/Pirates. Shit is going down this weekend. Reds are in pretty big trouble if they lose this series, AND one of the other ones ends in a sweep. That would be a worst case scenerio.

i like the reds, but i hope the dodgers sweep them. facing the braves without home field advantage could be a nightmare

Trout has been the best all around player in baseball in his first two seasons in the big leagues at a very young age. His future is frightening.
