Good job ump. The exact same pitch location you called Upton out on strikes was a ball on a 2-2 pitch to Ellis in the top of the 1st. We've sucked, and are getting our asses handed to us, but the umps have definitely been giving the Dodgers pitchers more benefit of the doubt than our pitchers.

Greinke shouldn't even mess with pitches over the plate. Just throw everything outside and let the ump give him enough strikes to get by.

No he hasn't. Or at least he wasn't getting them nearly as often as Greinke when I made that post. But he did get two or three the next couple of innings. And it started last night with the Kershaw getting a fairly wide strike zone. Not a huge deal since we simply got our asses handed to us, but it's still frustrating when it continues through the second game.

But, like I said, Minor started getting some generous outside strike calls his last couple of innings.

Rays got destroyed it appears. Who the hell schedules a playoff game at 2PM? I was at work the entire time and couldn't even check the score so I guess I didn't miss anything. Looks like Moore got hit around. Hopefully Price gets them back in game 2 or it's going to be a quick series.

Walk the bases loaded to face Heyward instead of Reed Johnson?

He got lucky...that time.

And how do Dodger fans generally feel about Mattingly? I didn't watch a lot of Dodger games this year, but my dad did because he had Clayton Kershaw on his fantasy team. So he watched almost all of Kershaw's starts, and probably another 15-20 times when they were the last game still going on late at night. Anyway, we'd talk several times a week during the season, and he'd occasionally complain about how dumb Mattingly is. Didn't know if it was just because he was pissed because he thought Mattingly pulled Kershaw too soon, or if his complaining was legit.

Wow...looked like Gordon was safe on the replay.

But man, seeing the second replay I'm not real sure.

mattingly is legitimately terrible. he just constantly makes dumb decisions. like yesterday deciding to have uribe bunt for no reason. or today putting in two rookies in the bottom of the 7th in a one run playoff game when you have a veteran brian wilson who can easily go a couple innings. he just doesn't make great decisions

1-1 going back to LA. luckily for us, atlanta is pretty bad away from home and we're strong at home. we'll be starting hyun jin ryu for game 3 and he has a 2.3 ERA at home. series is tied up but still in the dodgers' favor, should be interesting
