Are the umpires more complete shit and full of themselves lately than usual?

- This A's non-HR.
- The ridiculous Bryce Harper ejection.
- The David Price incident
- And for the 28 people on Earth watching the current Jays-Rays series, two of the worst strike zones you'll ever see in the first 2 games.

The "human element" can go eat a dick, IMO. Especially when it comes to calling balls and strikes. People come to watch the players, not umpires who crave the spotlight. They are infinitely more replaceable than the actual talent playing the game.

That Itzuris "foul" off foot . Joe has had 2 good reasons to get ejected with 2 terrible calls in consecutive games.

So Buchholz did cheat after all? It is a certain kind of sunscreen on his forearm.

They blew a fair/foul call on a HR in the Sox/Royals game the other day too. Even after review.

at David Ortiz being "hurt" by people suggesting he's on PEDS. It's to be expected after you test positive. As it is, he's gotten more benefit of the doubt than other players, and with more concrete evidence against him. I have no idea if he's still using anything, but this guy really has to keep his mouth shut.

Blue Jays lose in the 10th inning on 3 straight walks without ever using their best reliever who was rested and ready to pitch.

I love the notion of saving your top reliever for a "save" situation that may never even occur and using inferior pitchers. Brilliant.

Braves are hilarious. They either get hits or strike out. Although I have been happy that they are making productive outs and manufacturing runs a bit lately, instead of just hoping for a 3-run bomb.

What is with the umps these past couple of days? They let the Astros make a fairly obviously illegal pitching change last night.

"Astros manager Bo Porter called lefty Wesley Wright out of the bullpen to replace Paul Clemens in the seventh inning. The Angels countered by pinch-hitting for their left-handed batter with a right-hander. Wright didn't throw a pitch before Porter came back out and called for a right-handed reliever."

The Angels played under protest and won, but still.

Seriously...it's just ridiculous. The Astros pitching change was unbelievable, I mean, those are basic rules and the Umpires didn't even know the rules, those umpires are utterly incompetent.

Crew chief suspended two games & fined, other umps fined.

9 IP, 1 H, 0 BB, 13 K's.
