Justin Upton circuses two balls in the same inning in right, leads to a huge inning.
Haven't been impressed with him. The only thing he has done well this year has been hit bombs with no one on base. Guy doesn't hit worth a shit with runners on, rolls over on a TON of pitches, swings and misses a lot of pitches someone of his (supposed) caliber should be drilling, and plays a pretty take-it-or-leave it right field. I don't even feel like he's the go-to guy when you need a hit in this lineup, I feel a lot better with Freeman or McCann up there.
Absolutely sick play by Kipnis. Ubaldo is getting to the point where good outings aren't a surprise.
This is his third really nice start in a row. This early in the season, that's a good sign.
I love the way this team is playing. The last couple years, the Tribe would go on nice winning streaks, but they were matched by equal or worse losing streaks. Right now, the win streaks are there, but the losses aren't coming.
6 straight wins then a loss. Then 4 straight wins and a loss. Now, they come back and beat Verlander the next night.
Yeah. I'm still highly concerned about the rangers offense but given contracts/age/marketability/injury history there isn't a pitcher in baseball that I'd trade yu for. That's a bit unfair because it doesn't include the posting fee in his contract but man he's a stud. Hasn't had a start this season where he didn't have at least one more k than ip. That's not the end all be all of pitching but damn it helps when you can miss bats
One really should never judge a pitcher by wins and losses. Mat Latos is proof of that. Many of his pitching gems this year have ended in no decisions, and yesterday, he pitched like crap, but the bats picked up the slack, and he got the W anyways.
Both Uptons have been complete disasters this year. Someone who doesn't watch this club every day would assume that Justin has been a great pickup but the guy has no balls. He can hit with 2 outs nobody on and that is about it. Put RISP and he is useless.
Meanwhile opposing pitchers aren't even wasting pitches on BJ on 0-2 anymore. Just throw a fastball down the shitter, he'll get himself out. Guy gets the same treatment as the pitcher batting in the 9 hole does.
Like the Detroit series, this SF series is proving that good teams can have their way with Atlanta.
