I love the way this team is playing. The last couple years, the Tribe would go on nice winning streaks, but they were matched by equal or worse losing streaks. Right now, the win streaks are there, but the losses aren't coming.

6 straight wins then a loss. Then 4 straight wins and a loss. Now, they come back and beat Verlander the next night.

That's the sign of a good team.

Woa, calm down. Let me remind you the 2011 Cleveland Indians. Started the exact same way, actually, even better: 20-8, 30-15...and we finished under .500
Even last year we were 26-18 at the start of the season, to only see it finish disastrously. This was the season that people thought we could make a push for the top spot in the division after the pretty good showing of 2011.

Verlander lost twice to us last season aswell, if I remember correctly.

I know the bats have been coming alive this year and as I much I liked Pronk all these seasons, Reynolds as a DH has been a blessing this year.

Just enjoy watching this team play. Once we get passed the halfway point of the season and we're still in contention? Then I start thinking about a potential postseason with the Indians.

By the way, some numbers from "MVP caliber"/"dominant" () Justin Upton:

RISP: .167/.333/.208, 0 HR, 7 RBI
Men on base: .184/.300/.347, 2 HR, 12 RBI
2 outs RISP: .100/.250/.100, 0 HR, 1 RBI

How dare I be unsatisfied with his performance this year!?! This guy's numbers say he's the second coming of Babe Ruth after all!

As an aside, Dan Uggla does not belong in the bigs.

I didn't say anything about the postseason. Just noted that the team was playing well and that I'm enjoying watching what I consider a pretty good team at this point.

Obviously, things can change.

You don't get it.

His wRC+ tells the story about his overall offensive production. He has a 178 wRC+ right now and that's amazing. He has a higher wOBA and wRC+ than Cabrera from last year.

Educate yourself on sabremetrics.

However, I'm only examining and putting into perspective the time frame that johndeer is talking about, which is 39 games.

My only point is why would anyone complain about a guy on pace for those numbers when said player has NEVER come close to a 178 wRC+ or a .430 wOBA...........his personal best was 139 and .385.....with a last four year average of 122 wRC+ and something lke .365 wOBA..... where the hell are these expectatons/hype coming from that johndeere would be mad at the current production Upton is giving the Braves?

As bad as they have looked at times, a chance for the braves to get two series wins and .500 on a pretty tough roadie. Pretty big game in terms of how this club feels about itself going back to Atlanta.
