The O's need starting pitching badly. Without it, they're going to fall out of the division race very soon.
Padres have a nice team, but they aren't quite there yet. The bullpen has been worn out by the struggles of Richard and Volquez. Decker called up. If he has any success, the pads will be very busy at the deadline. Hundley still sucks, but he's necessary with biogenesis hanging over Grandal's head. Please no more John Baker. Cashner, Luebke, Kelly, Erlin and the rest of their young pitchers must finish 2013 healthy.
I can't take any more of him. He's gonna give me an ulcer. I think tigers closers have at least 5-6 blown saves/losses. Coke alone is 0-4.
Same, I don't even care if Leyland moves Benoit to the closer role, and pitches Smyly more, or calls up Rondon (although I'd prefer that as a last resort). Seriously, the change HAS TO be made at this point.
Hopefully some team with a solid closer falls out of the playoff race soon, otherwise it could be a long ass summer.
The Reds hit McCutchen again last night and Chapman almost hit Neil Walker with a 100 mph fastball up near his chin. The Reds have pretty much bullied the Pirates dating back to last season when Chapman hit McCutchen in the 9th. Pisses me off to see the Pirates with no retaliation ever. If I were a hitter, I would charge the mound next time someone got hit since Hurdle and the pitching staff seems content to let it happen.
edit - Morton just hit the first batter of the night and then we turned a doubleplay.

mets young phenoms shut down the braves today. matt harvey 7 innings 13 strikeouts in game 1, and zack wheeler (supposedly some scout liked him more than harvey down in the minors) 6 innings shutout baseball strikes out 7 in game 2 to sweep the double header. if this is the mets 1-2 punch than i am in
