CJ Wilson is dominant when he's throwing his slider below the strike zone. He can breeze through a lineup using only his fastball and slider when he's on. When he gets himself into trouble(aside from the starts he can't find the strike zone with any of his pitches), he's usually trying to outsmart the hitters with his changeup/curve and paying a heavy price for it.

In other Angels news, Hank Conger still sucks as a catcher. Maybe he can turn himself into a DH or something; right now, he's a waste of a 25 man roster spot.

Josh Hamilton officially hit rock bottom in his Angels career the other night, he went 0-5 with 2 K's and hit in to 3 double plays.

8 outs produced in 5 appearances is impressive

Hamilton shown some signs of regression in the 2nd half last year but i don't think anyone thought he would struggle this much. I wonder how his stats would look over the last calender year though

Last 162 Games for Josh Hamilton

.233/.292/.450
32 2B
4 3B
31 HR

93 Rbis
96 Runs Scored
184Ks

His power numbers aren't so bad. But he's striking out way more than he used to, and he was never one to take too many walks, but it's gotten worse. Playing half his games in Angel Stadium doesn't help his cause.

He hasn't played half his games in LAA in that time span though

Pedro Alvarez loves day games lol. Over the last 3 years he hits 40 points better in day games and last season he batted .288 in day games vs .221 in night games.

Jays won 8 in a row and only 1 game below .500. The next 10 though will be against AL East teams. Now that's is the real test.

6-4 is an absolute minimum requirement if they want to get back in the race.

Evan Longoria continuing his nice hot streak. He is crushing right now and playing great defense.

I meant for his future. It's not gonna help that as he ages, his lack of contact rate and walk rate and all those fly ball that used to get out with the stream in Arlington will be lazy pop outs at Angel Stadium...
