It's good that MLB is finally doing things that could make a difference in limiting PEDs(personally, I don't care what the players do, but if it's against the rules, at least enforce them) however, it's a joke that it's Selig still as commissioner, and trying to act all hard on PEDs considering how much he profited on them and how happy he was to do so. Selig should have been ousted as commissioner a long time ago. Guy is one of the biggest hypocrites in sports and really a coward who tries to deflect blame for how rampant PEDs were in the 90s until the mid 00s.
Same thoughts. As a Tigers fan with a player probably going to be suspended (Peralta) I think it's bullshit that Selig has had the evidence for this long, and basically sat and twiddled his thumbs and is now starting to suspend players right as the deadline hits and most likely after. It should have happened a while ago so teams could make moves and not have to rely on the waiver deadline.
Any Texas Rangers fans here? I'm pissed that it looks like we may not make a move after sending two top prospects to the Cubs to rent Matt Garza for 1-2 months. At least today the Rangers told other organizations that no player is off limits...I hope that means they are looking for immediate-impact players in return...
Seems like the White Sox didn't get much in return. A potential power guy who really hasn't done much so far. They could have gotten more for Peavy from someone else right?
I'm sure they didn't turn down better offers just for shits and giggles. It might not seem like much but obviously that was the market that was out there. GMs don't usually take the lesser of two trade options just to f*ck their team.
