Reds/Pirates/Cardinals are about to play a lot of games vs. one another for NL Central supremacy.

Pretty disappointed in my Reds right now for losing 2/3 to Milwaukee, knowing the challenges that lie ahead.

Yeah, the ending schedule is pretty bad ass with all the teams battling it out. Should be a really awesome pennant race.

Astros are the most profitable team in baseball history.

It also helps when your highest paid player is Erik Bedard for $1.15 million. Now that's rebuilding!

Pirates acquire Marlon Byrd and John Buck from the Mets in exchange for IF prospect Dilson Herrera and a player to be named later.

Nice deal for the Bucs. Herrera is good but nothing special. Byrd fills a huge need and Buck provides nice depth.

Every game we play without Jason Heyward feels like a coin-flip. Got a bit lucky tonight with Elliott Johnson (of all people) driving in our only 2 runs on a ball that looked like it should've been run down and caught. Only 3 hits the entire game and still won because of Alex Wood.

He had some command issues (4 walks) but still put together another solid start. His mechanics and delivery are bad and awkward as f**k, but he's been really good in April: 5 starts, 30.0 IP, 20 H, 3 ER, 28 SO, 9 BB, 0.90 ERA, 0.97 WHIP.

He's just 22 years old, too, although I still don't see him ever being more than a really good #2 or #3 type pitcher. Right now Atlanta has 3 or 4 very good young pitchers, but none of them have legit ace type stuff/potential in my opinion. I mean Minor and Teheran are pretty close, but not anyone considers true aces. If any of them do get to that level, it'll probably be Teheran.
