Re: Will Nash Never Making the Finals Overshadow His Career
Yes and no.
If Nash did make the finals in his prime, then I think we would view his career and his teams a bit differently.
Nash never really underperformed in his offensive play, but him and his team were never enough to get over the hump despite the talent. The Suns had the most talent in the league at one point, and still couldn't get to the Finals. So, it does say how his team and him were not good enough to reach the Finals.
Still, as I said, he never really underperformed. He was still the most efficient and best offensive point guard.
Re: Will Nash Never Making the Finals Overshadow His Career
To casual fans yes probably. Not to me, and hopefully not anyone on this site. He played in the West against an ATG lakers team and took it to them every time. To casual fans he will wither away like iverson and stockton if he never wins

This, plus, Phx should have just resigned JJ -- Nash only had championship talent that year, and if they had kept the core together for 5 (Nash marion amare, jj), he would have at least 1 ring.

Yeah...Stoudemire also got injured for the whole year in 2006.
Nash still had a great chance with the Suns, but still failed.

He has been on many great teams and he failed.
He was with dirk in dallas, did nothing.
He had a excellent team in phoenix, even if he was the best player there
He has a superteam in lakers now.
yet we still listen to " he makes players around him better" . I would have loved to see him in the sixers in place of AI.
I miss those teams with Dirk, Nash and Finley. With that said, they weren't ready yet. Nash and Dirk are more like a fine wine. They got better as their age. Nash didn't hit his prime until his 30s. Dirk hit his peak in his 30s.
The reason why, if I can recall correctly, Cuban let go of Nash was because he thought Nash was going to fade away as he aged. Then Nash won MVP as soon as he went to the Suns.

The rest I can see, but IMO Nash > Frazier (short peak/longevity) and currently Paul (which will change later on)
Whats so funny? Keven Johnson is the 2nd best Suns player right below Charles Barkley, dude is a top 10 PG of all time and best PG in Suns franchise history.

I kept voting KJ in the that damn top 100 all time list ISH was running and no one backed me up. smh. Nash > KJ tho.
Re: Will Nash Never Making the Finals Overshadow His Career
Ring chasing and failing with this Lakers squad might dim his lite a little for the time being, but eventually he will be remembered as one of the most efficient and talented offensive players the game has ever seen. The fact that he has 2 MVP's will insure his legacy is never forgotten.

Nash has a higher points and assists career total than KJ (And its not close) He also doesnt have a ring nor as many awards as Nash.
