No, he makes bad trades. The Telfair trade was bad, he also traded Songaila to the Kings for 1 or 2 2nd round picks. All this time he's had to build something and he hasn't come through, he needs to be fired.
No... and I don't even want to get into this too much... I'll see how this thread goes before I really get involved. I've talked about this at length. I'm probably one of the few Celtics fans who thinks he's a bigger problem than Doc.
The Telfair trade wasn't about Telfair. It was about ditching LaFrentz and rectifying the first Walker trade, which wasn't his fault, anyways. It was the owners looking to save a couple bucks on luxury tax that forced him to deal Walker for that package. He doesn't get shining marks from me but Pierce + Walker + trash wasn't going to cut it for too much longer, anyway.
He sucks. Read my post. He should really trade Paul Pierce. He's good at accumulating talent, yet I haven't grasped what he's trying to do with that talent. I know he wants to eventually win a championship, but what's your blueprint? He should be reassigned within the organization.
i think he is a fine GM.. and has set a roster of youth that will blossom into a dominate nba team... the celtics werent going anywhere after walker left.. its not that big of a deal whats going' on right now.. especially if the celtics get a good draft pick.. relax
Danny Ainge doesn't believe that Danny Ainge is a good GM. His own mom doesn't either. I don't think there is any reason to have to justify that statement. Their team speaks for itself. Why surround Paul Pierce with a bunch of youngsters who are out of high school? It's plain stupid.
And if he wanted to have a bunch of kids on the roster, who aren't seasoned yet to win now, he should've sign and traded Paul Pierce away, because by the time that roster develops into a contender, Paul Pierce will be in his mid 30's.
