Kobe should just play defense like he did in 2008 Olympics?

Why doesn't Kobe just play defense for on the Lakers like he did in the 2008 Olympics. After years of disappointment with the team led by Lebron, Wade and Melo, Kobe Bryant arrived and carried Team USA to a gold medal against Spain.

If he can do this on Team USA, he should be able to do it on the Lakers and lead them like he did with that team.

Well lets see, its 2013, so it has been 5 years since that. Kobe has aged. 2008 Kobe was also in his prime, and he's about 70-75% of what he was back then.

The Olympic teams are stacked so he can go all out on defense and not have to worry about also carrying the team offensively.

2008 was actually his best defensive season since the 3-peat IMO.

Lebron and Wade carried the team. Kobe who was supposed to be their defensive stopper couldn't slow down Navarro or Fernandez in the gold medal game. If they hadn't gotten themsleves in such a big hole to start the game Spain could have won.
