Re: It needs to be discussed. Manning and his shortcomings
Brady shouldn't have come up in this topic. But seeing as he has, I'll point out the weakness that has made him struggle in some playoff games: He goes down easy when the line is getting beat. He's not strong like Big Ben or quick/fast like RG3. No athleticism of any kind beyond his arm. So if your pass rushers can beat the o-line he'll get sacked and throw INTs. The o-line is actually more important to Brady than who he has catching the ball, as evidenced by some of the no-name receiver corps he's won SBs with.
But if you aren't hitting him, he'll kill you. That's a 100% guarantee.
Now everyone get back to what a choking beeyotch Peyton Manning is.

I'm not sure how true that is considering how Cassel got sacked a ton in 2008 when Brady was out. I would credit Brady for having an ultra quick release and being able to read defenses, possibly credit him for giving line calls too.

Quick release is arm athleticism. Reading coverage and making calls has nothing to do with athleticism. I said he was immobile, not stupid. Completely different.

But manning performance late has me scratching my head.
Still a great QB but come postseason? He makes me look at him sideways.
Tom Brady "Me too"
Eli Manning "Me too"
Tony Romo "no comment"
I'll address this in a detailed manner after the games. I'll educate your dumbass.
Re: It needs to be discussed. Manning and his shortcomings
Brady needs 2 more Super Bowl WINS to be the GOAT. You can't pass Montana just by tying him. Those 2 losses are a blemish as well. He needs to surpass Montana to take the #1 spot.

He's still been the most successful QB this generation and he's still going strong.
Even without the 4th SB victory his postseason record is still comparable to Montana's, Montana struggled in his later part of his career in the postseason as well. I think we can agree that Tom Brady is a top 2 QB of all time atm.
Wow. You don't know anything about Montana's career, do you? He went to the AFC Championship game with the Chiefs at age 37.
Re: It needs to be discussed. Manning and his shortcomings
Manning does struggle in the post-season in cold weather. He has his fair share of great games and duds. Same with Brady. Brady's really only had 1 good playoff game since 09 (Broncos last year)

I thought Manning struggled cause he could never practice in the cold, but that's obviously not the case because he has practiced in the cold for like a month now and he still sucked.

No they aren't. It would be better if he had won, obviously, but even making a Superbowl is a great season. Not including this current TBD season, 5 of his 11 full starting seasons he's made it to the Superbowl. How many QBs have made the SB almost half of their career? That's got to be an extremely short list.

He played in a very weak AFC compared to what Montana faced in the NFC during that time. 80's NFC >>>>> 2000's AFC. NFC dominance back then was similar to what we are seeing now with the SEC in college.

I'm not arguing Brady is better than Montana. I'm disputing your contention that lost Superbowls are a blemish on his record. Rodgers just went one-and-done for two consecutive seasons and Brees team didn't even make the playoffs. But when we look back on their careers in the future these things won't even be mentioned. They'll talk about their one or two SBs, career stats, and MVP awards. So how is Brady making some SBs his team didn't win going to be a "blemish?"
Furthermore, no one is talking about the AFC being "weak" right now, that's just you. No football historian is going to talk about these things.
Re: It needs to be discussed. Manning and his shortcomings
Another knock to Brady is Spygate. He hasn't won a ring since that happened.
He does have a 16-0 season on his record which is amazing, but he didn't win it all that year, so it's kind of a knock at the same time.
Montana was just perfect when he made it to the Super Bowl. 4-0 record. 11 touchdowns, 0 interceptions. Before Montana got to SF, the Niners were seriously one of the worst franchises in the NFL. I know it's hard to fathom now, but they were. They were 2-14 and 6-10 in the 2 years prior to him. Then he miraculously turns them around and wins the Super Bowl. Most people can't remember the circumstances around them winning, but it was amazing.

Almst no one talks about these things, analysts generaqlly just discuss how great he is. You are mentioning things people generally don't care about. Case in point:

No one knocks his performance that year. He set a TD record and in the SB had a clutch TD to put the Pats ahead with a few minutes on the clock. Unfortunately it was a few minutes too many, but no one is knocking him for this but you.
