would it shock you if his 4th quarter passer rating was lower than the first 3?
No one but a salty cowboys fan will remember his 4th quarter shortcomings because of what he did on 2 dramatic super bowl winning touchdown drives

You think the average Monday Night Football game isn't a "BIG STAGE" for an athlete to preform under?...it's a huge deal with millions and millions watching. For most teams in the NFL the lat 4 games all get the label "must wins"...these guys are used to preforming under pressure.

Unlike Golf, where the first 17 holes could be free of attention and cameras, and the last hole be an enormous crowd with many cameras creating a new atmosphere to play under.

Some games have more pressure than others. There is a difference between game 1 or 2 in September, and a do or die game in December or playoffs.

you pretty much just stated you are blinded by those rings...lol

Eli has lead the NFL in INTs before...this notion that he is most clutch thing ever is pure nonsense...there are plenty of games where Eli has just flat out SUCKED

even in the years he won rings the Giants got into the post season by barely squeaking in...9-7 records

I don't think a seasoned vet feels any differently from game to game...there is tons on the line in every game

you really think that Peyton was suddenly nervous in the 2nd OT?...I don't

2008 was a mess, plax shot himself and started a domino effect and the giants faded down the stretch and the eagles often given them a hard time.

2005 I believe was his first playoff game and he still had punk ass tiki on the team throwing everyone under the bus, plus the panthers were hot that year.

No shame in admitting the giants lost a few playoff games with Eli manning the middle.

so why did Eli play bad though? where was his "clutch gene"?

doesn't he magically turn into a flawless player during "big games"?

The Giants did horrible down the stretch. 34-0 and 33-14 They couldn't even control their own fate in the final game. So why would the final game be more important/pressure than those?

Leaving all the other QBs out of it, I only have one thing to say about peyton. If you need a guy to throw for 8,000 yards a season and then throw a pick to blow the playoff game, he's your guy. Story of his career.

I am not talking about the entire games. I mean particular situations. You don't think the "John Candy" incident was an example of a player being more cool and collected than the opponent? Look at Peyton Manning's game losing interception in the Super Bowl. 99 times out of 100 he doesn't throw an int in that spot if it was the regular season.

You can bring up all you want that he lead the league in interceptions...and every single time someone will point out the truth that a staggering amount of of those interceptions were not his fault what so ever. Many were off his receivers hands.

If I remember correctly at least 9 or 10 of those interceptions were off the hands of his receivers on balls they should have caught. If you want I can find a youtube video of all of his interceptions that year and you can see for yourself.

The year before they beat the Cowboys in week 17, which was in effect a playoff game. The pressure in that game was higher than any of the previous games that year.

That game was more important. There's a great deal of pressure in all NFL games, not sure how you can measure it and say x player will play better in this game due to that.

It's called intangibles. It's not something that can be measured through stats though.

I don't believe in the "clutch gene" in the NFL...I think sometimes QBs have bad games, and sometimes those games are in the playoffs...it is probably more likely in the playoffs due to the opposition being harder too.

The sample size in the NFL is SOOOO SMALL

In the NBA you have a 7 game series, where Lebron can play like shit in 2-3 of the games but make up for it in the others.

Does anyone think that if the Broncos played the Ravens in a 7 game series that Peyton would play bad in all 7 games because of his bad clutch gene?

The Cowboy's playoff record under Romo is 1-3...THAT IS ONLY FOUR GAMES!!!...it is much too small of a sample size to declare facts about any one player.
