PS3 Error 80710723

I got PS3 today from someone from craigslist. We went to brooklyn to pick it up.

I gave:
Beats By Dre Solo HD
Ipod Mini 4Gb
$120 Cash

for:
PS3 320GB
Move Bundle
2 Controllers
6 Games

Deal of a life time right? Well... I'm getting this ****ING error when I try to download an update.. error 80710723. What the **** is this? It takes 2000 years to download Netflix, then when I try to download an update for a game because PS3 you can't play without updating which I don't like, it gives me that error. Anyone had this error? What do I do? Did I get ripped off?

I think you're probably fine, looking around it sounds like it's just having trouble connecting to your router. See if this works.

A PS3 Error 80710723 signifies a network/router error. Try going to SETTINGS > NETWORK SETTINGS > INERNET CONNECTION SETTINGS > (if wired, choose path 1. if wireless, choose path 2.)

I've tried some of these. I've seen those links guys. However, it was a Battlefield Bad Company 2 Disc I put in. So some responses were that it's normal. However.. some downloads like right now I'm downloading a update data for COD BO and it's 63MB.. it's taking me 10-15 minutes. This would be like 2-3 mins on my XBOX.. is this normal for PS3? I believe it's the Slim PS3 model, its the one with the push power button and the model is "CECH".

Everything's working fine. I guess I did a port forward and it worked or my Internet speeded up? Well anyways. This ps3 is nice man. I totally got a deal of a life time. I have kill zone 3 the only game I really wanted for it came with it. It's nice but the controllers are to clunky like reviewed.

Any tips on what I should download? I have 320gigs. Demos?

The Walking Dead and Journey for sure. 2 of the best games of last year.
