12.4 PPG
10.9 RPG (4.5 offensive boards per game)
0.9 APG
0.7 SPG
1.0 BPG
2.9 PF
in only 32.9 MPG
#5 in rebounds per game
#1 in offensive rebounds
#2 in offensive rebounds per game
#3 in total rebounds
#13 in double-doubles
Noah plays like 5 more MPG and has slightly better stats, I think Chandler deserves the backup C in the All Star game. Knicks are a way higher seed as well. Anyone think they both might make it?

so crazy how the NBA has changed... back in the day, those would be nowhere near all star #'s...

Jamal Magloire made the All Star team putting up 14/10 on an 8th seeded team almost 10 years ago. Yeah, but 20-30 years ago that wouldn't even come close to making the cut.

So true, less FGA attempts, less gungho rebounders, centers and powerforwards used differently, more 3 pt attempts are some of the things I think contribute to that.
Chandler really has helped transform this team. He's a very nice complement to Melo. When was the last time the Knicks had a defensive presence like Chandler, or a presence in the paint? Ewing 15+ years ago? Chandler makes the most out of his ability offensively. He doesn't have much individual skill, but he puts himself in great position to finish easy baskets, and aside from the 4.5 offensive rebounds he does get, he tips out more that lead to extra possessions. Too bad the team has regressed defensively. The problem has been consistency more than anything. The team has the ability to be solid defensively, and have shown it at times, but too many players have had lapses where they fail to make the proper rotations or lose track of their man.

I'm hoping the Knicks & Chandler especially are saving their legs for the playoffs, you can tell that Chandler sometimes isn't contesting shots he normally contests. Still though, even not playing 100% defensively Chandler has still shut down some centers this season.
Im curious why he doesnt get more blocks. I understand that doesnt translate to being a good defender, but im just wondering how someone as big and long as him doesnt get more bpg.
He's pretty limited offensively, and while his team doesn't need him to be Hakeem, it's a pretty major hole for someone making his kind of money. But then all big guys are overpaid with a few exceptions (Duncan, Garnett)

I think he's earning his 14 million. Chandler's a top 5 center in this league.

Hoping Sheed and Camby come back sooner than expected. Chandler will need some rest down the stretch.
If they gave him credit for his tap outs he'd be leading the league in rebounding.
One of the things that has changed about centers is the minutes they play. Outside of Howard (and Gasol) centers play limited minutes. Horford is also playing close to 36MPG.

He does get credit for those tip outs. He wouldn't be 2nd in the league in offensive rebounds if they didn't count the tip outs.

He was a back up I believe... replacement for an injured player. That was probably around the decline of PF's/C's.
