Default Dwight says his shoulder feels OK

Two days removed from playing for the first time in a week, Lakers center Dwight Howard provided a positive prognosis surrounding his right shoulder.

“It’s fine,” he said. “I haven’t had any issues.”

Howard will play tonight when the Lakers (16-21) host the Milwaukee Bucks (19-17) at Staples Center. But Howard missed Monday’s practice in favor of getting treatment on his right shoulder, which had a separated labrum. That injury stemmed last week from the Clippers’ Caron Butler and Denver’s Andre Miller fouling him on his shoulder. Howard then missed the next three games to restrengthen the shoulder before being susceptible to more contact inside.

I figured a torn labrum would be a lot of missed time. Oh well. As much as I don't really like him, we do in fact need him on this current team.

It's too bad that Pau's V@gina doesn't heal as fast

He is setting a record for longest healing concussion in sports history

Not your finest moment, DK. Concussions are serious business, and doctors are only now starting to realize the long-term side effects. The studies are terrifying--even sub-concussive trauma is enough to make your brain shrivel up, if it's over a long period. Look at what happened to Junior Seau, or Ray Easterling, Chris Benoit, and it stops being so funny.

Basketball isn't football, but the fact is the dude had a concussion, and shouldn't be in a rush to get back. Pau doesn't have clearance from the team doctor, and so he can't play per the league's concussion policy. Rushing him back from having his face nearly caved in would be needlessly risky. The concussion policy is actually a good thing, and there's no need to frame things in terms of macho he-man nonsensical bullshit, if you'll pardon the French.

I guess it was good and bad that the concussion policy came out. I remember Avery Johnson criticizing that earlier in the season. Its great because the player gets more rights. I just think if you feel good to go, and you produce in your daily activities normally, they should come back whenever.

And Pau has had a history of missing a few extra days for nagging injuries. Take for example when we first traded for him a few years back. Both, Dirk and Pau, suffered the same type of ankle sprain. Dirk came back after 1 or 2 games while Pau sat out a couple of weeks, in a critical part of the season where the lakers were making a playoff run. Kobe came out to say "Dirk was back immediately and Pau is taking forever"...something along those lines.

So when guys like me crack down hard on him, its because of this unanimous feeling that the man simply can't play through any level of pain. Its just kinda frustrating as a fan since these guys get the best healthcare, and a hole crap-load of money to go out and do their jobs.

I have no problem with you calling me out on this one.
Concussions ARE a very serious issue, and yes there are a ton of serious cases of permanent damage from guys in actual contact sports.....not basketball.
This is PAU we are talking about, he is a hypochondriac, he's either scared or just doesn't want to play. There is no way on earth that he still has legitimate issues from that little bump to the head.
As for getting cleared by the doctor.....come on, if he says he has a headache, dizzy or is sensitive to light then the doctor has no choice but to keep him out, it only has to be verbal, no visual bruise or any x-ray required, just Pau's word.
I had a concussion once (Explains a lot huh ) and I had no signs within a couple days....it was a much bigger hit than Pau took.
I have absolutely no doubt that Pau is milking it, he didn't take a hit like Harden, nor Karl Malone knocking out David Robinson. Heck, if Pau keeps this up he'll be out longer than Rudy T.
Bottom line again, Pau is a known hypochondriac who milks the crap out of every injury.

Pau has missed only 81 games in his 12 seasons and never missed a playoff game. Calling him soft or calling him out for being injured is dumb.

Why is it dumb to call him soft? Sure there was one season when he played his lights out. Specifically when they beat the celtics a couple years ago. But everytime that man had come to the big moments, he faltered every time. Why can't he be called soft then? He's certainly no Rambo, thats for sure.

LMFAO....everyone in the league calls him soft, it's NOT about this one fake injury....dude really has a Phssy

Teams know if they bang on him he will wimp out.....this has been well established.
Never missed a playoff game????? Eh.....ok, you don't watch basketball, because if you call the last 2 years "Being There" in the playoffs we can all laugh at that dumb opinion.
