Wade. There is nothing that has really changed about Carmelo's game. Dwade is clearly the better all around player. Besides scoring more points Carmelo does nothing better than he does. Anthony is still the same old one dimensional player he's always been.

Melo and I'm one of the biggest Wade fans in the world. Wade looks like he doesn't give a shit half the time. Doesn't help that LeBron dominates the ball like no other. Seriously, he's the most ball dominant player in NBA history.

This year, there have been quite a few players with a case to be ahead of Wade. In no order, here's 10 who have a case over Wade so far off the top of my head.

Lebron
Durant
Melo
Kobe
Paul
Duncan
Harden
Parker
Westbrook
Curry

There are other players who have arguably played better than him so far. I'm not judging this on past play, if I was, Wade and Howard would be in the top 10.

(at such a meaningless point in the year, overall performance hitherto is not what I mean.)

His whole career, Wade has been a main part of teams that play better than they are. His whole career, Melo has been a main part of teams that play worse than they are. One year finally, he is playing on a team perfectly built around his strengths and weaknesses, and after a third of a season of that, you're ready to declare him a top 3 player?

This isn't 2006-2011 Wade. It's the second consecutive season that Wade hasn't looked like the player he was in his prime. meanwhile, Melo has taken his game to another level. And I said top 3-4 so far for Melo. But I'd be surprised if he slips out of my top 5 based on what I've seen from him throughout the season, even from the very start. Wade simply hasn't looked like a top 5 player this season or last.

I stand by my pick of Melo, and this season, I don't think it's particularly close either. Melo at his best has been better than Wade this season, and Melo has also been more consistent.

That is absolutely false. I've watched almost every Knick game, and it was clear from the start that Melo is better than he ever was. He's having his best shooting season from all areas, including becoming a prolific 3 point shooter for the first time other than for a half season after he was initially trade to the Knicks. Melo has also been making the right passes out of double teams, mixing up his game well and playing better defense.

Wade.

Marsh-melo plays no defense.

Discuss.

Carmelo is playing the best ball in his career, and he is better than Wade is atm.

Wade lost a step and is slowing down, but is better than what his stats are showing. He is playing the least amount of minutes of his career and taking the 2nd least shots of his career. It's partly because he lost a step, and partly because of Spo managing the minutes for him and Bosh (both are playing career low in minutes). If LeBron was out, I still see Wade scoring around 25 ppg.

But as of right now, how can you not say Carmelo? He is much more consistent than Wade has been this season and playing great.
