Default Manimal appreciation thread:

Obviously he won't make the all-star game as a reserve, especially in the West... But odds are Tyson Chandler and Noah will make it in the East. Compare their stats:

Tyson Chandler - Knicks are 24/13

12.4 ppg / 10.9 reb / .9 ast / .7 stl / 1 blk / 1.3 to / 2.9 fouls
67.2% fg / 67.4 % ft in 32.9 minutes.

Per 36 - 13.6 ppg / 11.9 reb / 1 ast / .8 stl / 1.1 blk / 1.4 to / 3.2 fouls

Kenneth Faried - Nuggets are 24-17

12.3 ppg / 10 reb / .9 ast / 1.1 stl / .9 blk / 1.3 to / 3.1 fouls
54.4% fg / 61.3% ft in 29.5 minutes.

Per 36 - 15 ppg / 12.2 reb / 1 ast / 1.3 stl / 1 blk / 1.6 to / 3.8 fouls

Joakim Noah - Bulls are 22-15

12.4 ppg / 10.7 reb / 4.1 ast / 1.3 stl / 2 blk / 2.9 to / 2.8 fouls
45.6% fg / 0% 3pt / 80% ft in 38.4 minutes.

Per 36 - 11.6 ppg / 10.1 reb / 3.8 ast / 1.2 stl / 1.9 blk / 2.7 to / 2.6 fouls

I just thought it was interesting that the stats are so similar, and most people don't give Faried his due. He's undersized and he hustles like a motherf*cker.

Sidebar - Why the f*ck are all-star players' stats so terrible now? 12/10 qualifies you? Yeeeeesh... Charles Oakley would be a 6 time all-star then.

Faried does seem pretty like a popular dude around the league in terms of fans and opposing announcers but I figured he'd get alot more love from the casual observer because of the chase down block, he's had quite a few this year that should make his highlight reel pretty nice along with the dunks.

His defense has really improved this season. Last year it was kinda ehh and made some pretty crucial mistakes. This year it's came along pretty nicely and that along with his defensive rebound/blocking/getting into the lane has made quite the impact on that side of the ball.

I'm curious to see what people think about his offensive potential. Kinda inconsistent and if he doesn't get going early, can be a quiet night. Doesn't have many moves down low, really none except that hook. He's knocked down a few jumpers and occasionally beat somebody off the dribble but nowhere near close to being able to even do that once a game. He'll always capitalize off those offensive boards, dunks and he's a REALLY good finisher and can get to the line.

Like I said I'd be curious to see what people think that have no bias. Possibility of knocking down that jumper consistently down the line? Ever be like a 15+ per game guy? Sometimes I feel like he can be a mini Howard at the PF position without as much defensive impact but probably far to generous. Other times you get the feeling that a really great role player/elite rebounder is probably his ceiling.

Talented? Faried is the ultimate energy/hustle guy for a reason, his potential is decent but he is far from a overally talented PF. I have yet to see any post game and his jumper is so so his handle is the open court is solid tho.

Dudes a beast but him Andre and Ill Will (played 2 solid games coming back) I love watching play for the Nuggs.
