Poor coaching, especially in the clutch. Abysmal jump shooters. Black holes on the court(Shannon Brown). Whiny chemistry-killers off the court(Marcin Gortat).
As well as the fact that the player they signed hoping would step up to be their "go-to guy" (at least for this season) ended up proving to be the flat out biggest lazy, head-case, talentless black hole(on both offense AND defense) in the entire NBA that all of the Timberwolves fans warned us he would be. AKA Michael Beasley
They are just a dysfunctional group of players(led by a coach with no leadership, command, or motivational skills) who usually can manage to stay in the game for 3 and a half quarters, sometimes even leading the whole game, but often find a way to start to fade some time in the 3rd quarter and almost always completely blow it late in the 4th quarter.
Not having any legit leaders, scorers, or go-to guys late in the game really kills them. And with all of the chemistry issues, it seems like they've almost completely given up caring about winning now.
This is the year they're finally tanking hard. And what a fitting year... the first year without a single "franchise player" on the roster in at least a decade or more. Let's just pray they win the draft lottery so they might at least have a chance of getting a player on the roster that could possibly AT THE VERY LEAST save them from being uninteresting to watch next year. That's honestly all I can hope for right now. This team needs some serious changes.
