Default OGT: Spurs @ Hawks - 1/19/13

Hawks without Lou Williams who is tragically out for the season with an ACL tear. Spurs with no Ginobili or Duncan tonight. Shoult turn out to be a good, close game.

12-11 Spurs right now half way through the first quarter.

no Duncan and Ginobili makes this Spurs team similar to the one we may see in the near future (1-2 years). Would like to see Kawhi and Splitter put their mark on this game.

^ Great point. The Spurs bench has looked great so far. But that block on Blair at the end was a great example at how he no longer has any elevation.

Hopefully Kawhi ends the game with anywhere from 10-15 shot attempts. Pop really needs to take advantage of this opportunity and let Kawhi's role grow in the offense.

What's up with J-Smoove getting barely any floor time?
Coaching staff that angry with him?

The Hawks struggle will continue, they are actually pretty good at home though.

This is the Kyle Korver vs. Matt Bonner show right now. It's raining long distance shots for both of them.

For the Hawks I don't understand playing Horford, Zaza and Josh at the same time. If I was the coach I would refrain J-Smoove from shooting anything beyong 14-15 feet. He was doing great posting up Leonard in the 1st, and has just looks like he's not trying now.

Pop getting fired up. "BULLSHIT!" right in the refs ear. He might try to get tossed tonight.

WTF.

I turned on the feed to see a 9 point run.

ETA: interrupted with that layup at the buzzer.

Atlanta scored to take a 61-60 lead and in like 60-90 seconds the Spurs push their lead back out to 7 at 68-61.

Surely not...will it? Buford will strike gold in the draft again and/or make a savvy FA signing or two. If not, this would be a really average team, maybe even worse than that in the West. And it's not like Parker is just in the early or middle stages of his prime.

I don't know, I just can't see the Spurs not being at least somewhat competitive and a playoff team. I think Buford will get something done within the next few years to shore up the roster after the Duncan/Manu/Parker era.

That's been the pattern for this game. Spurs get a 7 to 10 point lead, Hawks come back, Spurs get decent lead again, Hawks come back, Spurs go on a little run, Hawks come back.

Should be an interesting 4th quarter.

And there goes Harris to the lockerroom with a nasty turned ankle. Hawks' backcourt can't catch a break with the injuries.

God damn, being a fan of a team sucks. Too many lows not enough highs, it's not good for the health.
