yeah I dunno ... to me, MJ was definitely a better triple threat and post player, but I don't think he could run the break anywhere near the way lebron can ... and lebron might be better in pick and roll situation too

that's how I see it too. A lot of observers conflate top speed and first step. Lebron is fast and when he's in full stride probably like a gazelle. But his first step is not elite.

a lot of guys have both attributes. but u also have guys on opposite end of spectrum like Jeremy Lin, who has great acceleration from standstill but definitely below average in speed.

He did a dunk a bunch of people have done and dribbled the ball through his legs a few times... this is supposed to convince me he's better than Jordan?

Gotta love Stephon Marbury's quote about MJ: "How can one person have so much game?"

Lebron needs both hands to dribble. One for the ball, one to push off the defender.

I don't really follow that.

Jordan is better. But you are flat out lying if you think a living person is a more complete basketball player than Lebron. He can play 8 positions (4 defensively and 4 offensively) completely and all at all star levels. Obviously no center is going to be able handle him. He's even slowed Dwight down along with a hot Al Jefferson (who has more post moves than any other center). Every position has a different skill set. Right now he would dominate any of the ten positions named, with the only draw back he couldn't do center for a long length of time. Plus, there is no other top notch scorer that's really a facilitator. Lebron's complete all around game is already significantly better than Magic or Pippen's much less Jordan. He contributes to every facet of the game almost all the time.

Lebron is a ten tool player. He's Mr. Basketball. He often relies on his speed and power but he's proven he can do it all and does it more frequently than anybody, his only close rivals was Pippen and KG and he's definitely got some separation. Don't confuse strengths with his ability to be incredibly practical in nearly every facet of the game.

As far as this thread goes, yes you could very much argue Lebron is a better ballhandler than Jordan was, i am not saying that he is, i am just saying it is arguable and saying that you should maybe try stop overvaluing Jordan to much (or undervaluing Lebron).... and the "dude" that said Lebron is a better ballhandler than Jordan is according to me the greatest ballhandler i ever seen (Isiah Thomas), im sure he knows what he is talking about in this department better than i would say all of us here...

Don't completely disagree. Don't really agree.

Lebron relies on his physicality a lot when driving to the rim...especially now. Before, he at least relied on athleticism and the quick first step, plus good reactionary moves. But he's stacked a lot of muscle in that body. Yes, his frame (not just talking height) can handle it and he hardly looks jacked. He looks in spectacular shape (and is). But he's not only not quite as fast or as quick, but he's not as swift in movement.

I don't think he depends on athleticism, but he relies on it and his physicality a lot more than Jordan did. Jordan is a much more skilled player. Lebron is a more all-around player. But he's also a different kind of player than Jordan. That doesn't make him more completely, necessarily. Michael did everything well.
