That would be just as fine for me.

Thompson does have a lengthy contract but I do believe he can still be a good third big for any team. But the prize for me is the Kings first, even at top 3, maybe 5 protected and unprotected next year.

I'm just shocked you'd be willing to give up your first for Bleds.

I didn't see that unprotected pick part until you just said it hmm, hard to say really we have done such a rubbish job drafting I honestly don't know lol. But if it were JT/Brooks straight up for Bled/Hollins yeah in a heartbeat.

And Clips would never consider that .

Would top 5 protected make a difference at all?

Clips can just get Carter-Williams at that slot, or maybe Bazz if he somehow drops .

What about Thompson/Thornton for Bledsoe/Butler?

Bledsoe/Evans/T-Rob/Cousins all have HUGE potential. Just need a Small Foward who can shoot.

IMO Thornton would be huge for the clippers. They're pretty old at the 2 slot and lack shooting, and from the games I've seen, Thornton is a great 3-point shooter (maybe I haven't watched enough though).
And then the clippers would have a pretty solid frontcourt with Griffin/Jordan/Odom/Thompson

Maybe a couple other throw-ins, but from an outside perspective, I'd like to see this happen.

--------------------

Anyone know what happend to Al Thornton? I used to watch a lot of clipper games a few years ago with Z-Bo and Baron. And I recall Al being a pretty decent player. Kinda wish the blazers would pick him up for some bench scoring

Works for me, would the Clipper want Thornton tho with Billups, Green, Jcraw there but? I doubt it

No dice, way too much salary to take on, plus Butler has been one of our premier wing defenders and is a true veteran. Plus, with Crawford, Green, Billups, Barnes, Hill, Bledsoe and Butler all able to man the two and the former four being good shooters, Clippers really don't need another one dimensional guy.

As far as Juice (Al Thornton) goes, he just had no IQ. I mean, this guy would dunk on athletic guys but shoot fade aways over Korver & Kapono

I don't see Clips making a move this season.

With Paul/Billups they have a puncher's chance again OKC/MIA.

They aren't better than them but, if the roleplayers get hot, they could possibly beat them in a 7gm series.

If you have a chance at a title, you don't make a move esp. when they are great than the sum of their parts right now due to chemistry.

The off-season though is a different story.

The most obvious move is a Bledsoe for Mayo S/T with Mavs (Mavs have bird rights right?)

Mayo gives them an extra shot creator, 3pt shooter and I believe he has still has something to show in the right situation.

I don't know about a trade for the Clippers. Every single team is not perfect, every single time could of course use a trade.

I agree that the Thunder are a perfectly built team, a far as their depth and pieces.

The Clippers could use another backup C and I think they're too stacked at the 3, have an issue with their starting 2guard. Greene is not a bad player, but he's a straight backup. They need a Thabo in that position, not Greene.

Problem with Butler is he's inconsistent. He's a good shooter and hit some tough jumpers yesterday. But he's not a spot-up shooter. He's an iso shooter, just like Crawford is off the bench. He's a do-everything player and he's being used as a spot-up shooter.

They have great chemistry tho, so I think it's difficult to justify trading Butler right now. I think you can suggest starting Barnes (or eventually even Hill), but it's difficult now. The SG position is a problem. Billups is the wrong fit, just as is Butler. Honestly, you may as well play Butler at the 2 (no matter that it messes with spacing).

They're good enough to win tho. We'll see what happens.

Mike Fratello today:

“They are deep, and they have the ability of playing big and playing small,” he said. “They have inside presence, outside presence, shot-blocking ability. … They have all the pieces that are necessary. This is a well-put-together roster. It’s a good mixture of veteran guys for leadership and experience and the young and athletic guys that make it a fun and exciting game to watch. It’s a really good group.”

I can't help but feel OP and other people in here criticizing have just went off what the shorthanded team has done. CP3+Billups coming back next week will make a world of difference for the team. It would be similar to OKC playing without Durant and Martin. Billups=Martin in the sense that he's our most dangerous 3 point shooter, great at getting to the line and is the 3rd or 4th best overall player on the team. The difference is Billups has a huge impact on the confidence and moral of the team when he's out there too.

CP3=Durant in the sense that both have been the 2nd and 3rd best players all year long, extremely high impact on both ends and the team system flows through them. It would be like expecting the Thunder without Durant+Martin to beat a full strength Clippers team.

Yeah, because OKC would be world beaters without Kevin Durant. The Clippers are only 3-1 without the greatest PG to play the game since Magic and Isiah. Unecceptable. The Clippers should blow up their roster and clean house right now.
