Synergy stats confirms that Dwight is worthless in the post
Roughly 1/3 of the possession Dwight turns it over, other roughly 1/3 he gets fouled and shoots roughly 50% from the line, other 1/3 he gets a shot off and shoots roughly 60%(being generous here) from the field.
so calculation, thats 1/3*0+1/3*1+1/3*2*.6= roughly .74 pts per possession.
the league average is .85 pts per possession with postups.
just for some reference, the best players in post up points per possesions(with at least 80 attemps) are :
Kobe and Durant tied first at 1.12 , melo .97, B.Lopez .96
Re: Synergy stats confirms that Dwight is worthless in the post
dwight is f@cking delusional. He thinks the basketball court is his personal stage. That's why he wants everyone to clear out of the paint so that he's the only actor on the screen. complete narcissistic perosonality. I guess that's what happens when you get crowned the "miracle child" by an overly nurturing mother. You grow up believing the entire world revolves around you and that you are the reincarnation of god himself.
Re: Synergy stats confirms that Dwight is worthless in the post
Most of the ISHiots here claimed the opposite. It was clear as day that Howard's post game was elemental. He's was able to score because of his athleticism and strength, but now that he's coming off an injury (That won't get better over time), he's being forced to rely on his non-existent post game skills. He's blaming everyone but himself.

Yet dwight wants more postups
Oh my god thank you, finally stats prove what everyone already knows.
DWIGHT IS FAR BELOW AVERAGE IN THE POST
Lopez the highest percentage shooting bigman in postups, TRADE DWIGHT FOR BROOK MITCH. Howard's D is overrated and Brook underrated. Howard is nowhere near the game changing defender he possibly once was (or was artificially hyped to be)

This. Everyone and their mama knows Bynum is better than Dwight offensively, but Dwight makes up for it in defense. But he doesn't even do that now so what exactly does he bring to the Lakers. Going to Dwight in the post every possession is just as bad as isoing Kobe every possession

Ahh ok. He's worthless right now, but he still isn't 100% healthy either. He should just hang it up this season and focus on getting completely healthy and tear it up again next season like he's done most of the time other than this season. I'll try to find the synergy data for earlier seasons so we can see how worthless he is overall for his career and not not 30 something games into a season coming off of back surgery with a new coach and new teammates.
