No consensus yet. AUDIENCE 64% liked it
That might be as a big a swing from the professional critics and the audience as I've ever seen.
If you mashed-up the worst parts of the infamous Howard the Duck, Gigli, Ishtar and every other awful movie I've seen since I started reviewing professionally in 1981, it wouldn't begin to approach the sheer soul-sucking badness of [Movie 43].
A gaping wound on the side of cinema, a January release that's yearning to be hidden from audiences, the ugly stinking maw of a Hollywood system that thinks you're an idiot.
Painfully unfunny, inordinately stupid, and about as entertaining as a colonoscopy. If there's a worse film in 2013, I'll be very, very surprised.
The best advice we can give you is to stop reading this, go find something else to watch, and pretend Movie 43 never happened.
I imagined this wasn't the type of movie to get praise from critics, but how bad the reviews are so far is surprising. I laughed pretty hard the first time I saw the trailer, so it is strange to hear it described as completely unfunny.
More reviews have come in. It's still at 6%.

Deadly dull, unfunny, offensive, and stultifyingly clumsy.
Your laugh mileage may vary (God forbid), but we can all agree on one thing: this is the biggest waste of talent in cinema history.
A confounding crapfest that squanders a cast of stars that would put most award shows to shame on material that would be rightfully rejected from most third-grade recess periods for lacking the requisite wit and dignity.
I think this one is my favorite.
I see a bright future ahead for this sui generis work, which will be passed around sixth grade classrooms by odd-smelling kids for years to come.
