What do you mean? If you replace current Kidd with Nash, than clearly they get better because Kidd is accustomed to not having to dominate the ball to play with a star, like he did with Dirk. However, it wasn't always like this, remember when Kidd came from NJ and Dallas fans complained 24/7 about how they shouldn't have traded Devin, and how Kidd was under performing? Only until he got comfortable with his roll the next couple of seasons, did he find a way to sitll be productive whiles not dominating the ball. It's because it's a tough transition from being point guards who are used to creating all the offense for their teams ( like on the suns and nets) and then going on a team with players, who'll actually benifit from the ball not always being in your hands.

So I don't think it's a fair comparison, because Nash is still trying to find his role on the Lakers, like Kidd had on the Mavs, where he can produce wins without being the point guard who creates every possesion. And I think Nash, is ready for that, which is why he never objected to the Princeton-Hybrid, that Brown was implementing. He aknowleged it would be a tough transition, but he enjoyed the fact that he wouldn't have to be the guy creating everything.

The reason why Kidd struggled was because of Avery wanting him to shoot more and play more like a SG. Avery cant run a offense to save his life. He was able to get to the finals because Dirk and is ability to create for himself and others. Josh Howard played great in the first half, Terry would pick and pop with Dirk or get a screen on the high post and curl around it.
Just look at what Avery did to Deron Williams.

With that said, Nash is not the problem. He is a team player and is playing okei. Its more to do with Kobe not being able to just catch and shoot or swing the ball. Every time he gets the ball, something amazing has to happend. That is why they get so many offensive 3 second violation.

There is so much wrong with this team right now. Its better to talk about what is good with them. I like the color scheme they use. I also think its cool that so many celebrities is at the games.

You would think by getting a Kidd your team would get younger, but in fact your team gets 1 year older.

Probably from 17-25 to 19-23. Still well below .500.

Nash or Kidd, If LAL cannot utilize Kidd / Rondo / Paul-Howard-Gasol trio, they aint a .500 team.

Nash or Kidd or Paul or Rondo, dont matter. You have to play your best cards & exhaust them before going to 2nd option in chucking inefficient 34 yrs old Kobe.

MIA plays with their ace card. LBJ is play maker, ball handler & primary scorer with 3 pt shooters camping on all 4 corners. If this dont work, go to 2nd side kick scorer called D' Wade. It worked !

2-4 wins better, Kidd's a better defender & he's less injury prone. Kidd also fits in with teams much better & smoother.

Kidd's leadership is unique in the league. He can transform the spirit of a team. He could've helped any contender. OKC should've hired him.

For everyone bashing Nash -- look at his days in phoenix and notice how often the ball gets passed 2 or 3 or 4 times with absolutely no hesitation. Nash cannot be blamed for making a good first pass to get the offense ahead of the d rotation, then either mwp or kobe holds the ball until the defense recovers.

They'd get worse. Kidd can't play heavy minutes so expect more Duhon/Morris.

Definitely better. Would fight for the playoff. Nash is ball-dominant pg, who often over-dribbles and does not suit the Lakers system, stops them from having consistent ball movement. With Kidd, Kobe can be Kobe, and Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol will get the ball more inside than open jumpers and the whole team will function as a team. Plus, he'll be able to guard the twos or ones and much better help defender too, getting those steals.

Not knocking on Nash here but just saying he's not fitting into the system. You know what would be much better than replacing Nash with Kidd? Getting a coach that can actually coach and run a decent suitable offense/defense scheme.

This, anybody who had watched him PHO would notice. Unfortunately Lakers has 3 franchise players on its starting line up and all have ideas of their own.

About the same. Nash is actually better than Kidd now.

Old Kidd with Antoni is a wash.
