Yup. On Prince too, who just two seasons prior REALLY put the shackles on Kobe (with his length)
Thus why Kobe / Laker stan 90's detractors don't understand, length limits an offensive player's game more if he doesn't have foot speed, or if he settles for tough jumpers (Kobe) ... and it's why teams felt the need to limit Jordan's attack game, but usually putting 6'2 - 6'4 players on him in order to match quickness and foot speed.
2004, 2005, and 2006 Pistons didn't have someone to match quickness. Billups could guard old Jason Williams and Gary Payton, but he didn't have the speed to guard Wade.
That's why Wade ALWAYS struggles with the Bulls. They usually have a small guy who can defend. Wade's kryptonite is Kirk Hinrich. A 6'2 maybe 6'3 non athletic white guy who knows angles on defense, is physical, and has tremendous anticipation and lateral quickness.
Wade sodomized Prince two seasons in the row in 2005 and 2006. Why? Because he was a relentless attacker who could break you down off the dribble and wasn't afraid to ATTACK the rim.
It's why these two guys (Kobe and Wade) are the two sides of the greater player, Jordan.
Wade is his quickness, speed, attacking, finishing ability, and help defense (blocks, steals)
Kobe is his skill, footwork, jumper, post game, and man defense abilities (lock down when he tries)
Jordan made you pick your poison, he could play like either of these guys. Wade is a poor man's '85 - '89 Jordan. Kobe is basically for much of his career a younger version of '96, '97, and '98 Jordan. Making him basically a rich man's older Jordan.
Peak MJ is both of these guy's strengths combined, in the most devastating perimeter attack of all-time '90 - '93 Michael Jordan. Otherwise known, as the best player of all-time.
