He could be. His defense is already really good, he's got a knack for rebounds. He's got to build an offensive arsenal to be a real dominant big, something Dwight doesnt really have. He's got all the tools. Dude a legit 7 footer with insane athleticism. I really don't understand why isn't their starting Center yet, there's really nothing to lose at this point.

In 3 years Howards athletic ability will probably have further regressed while Drummonds will be similar so maybe, I don't think he will be better than athletic Howard in 3 years.

Only if Howard sustains a major injury. As much as we harp on Howard's lack of offensive skill Drummond is even less skilled.

Depends on his knees. Wasn't he red flagged before draft?

He is gonna be the best center for the next decade or so. Dwight doesnt have his touch around the basket nor the big hands.

no, never any mention of health issues. Also, alot of people are forgetting this " beast" is still 19 years old, wont be 20 til next august. He is actually still growing.....good luck to the rest of the league if Detroit ever gets its head out of its ass and invests in a Big to train this young fella.

lol at the teams that didn't pick this monster. Talent > whatever mambo jambo mental BS they were talking about.

Monroe and Drummond will be a fantastic partnership.

Agreed. I know folks frequently cite Dwight Howard's offensive ineptitude, but I don't even recall rookie Howard being as raw and ugly with his back to the basket as Drummond has appeared this year. To be sure, Drummond's been a fantastic rebounder, shot blocker, hard worker, dunker, screen setter, leaper, and finisher while facing the basket within 3 feet, but his post game looks so rough I'm not convinced he'll ever be able to be a true threat there. He catches the ball in the post on accident every couple of games and disaster always ensues.

Again though, he's been great in most other facets. I'm just not sure he'd be able to eclipse someone like Dwight Howard without a real offensive ability. I understand that sounds funny, since offense is Howard's biggest criticism, but Drummond's post skills make Dwight look like Hakeem right now.
