Its way early to tell, but there is ton of solid talent in the 2012 draft.

Worthless thread is worthless.

in relation to the last 5 years of drafts it is definitely up there in terms of overall talent. there are some bonafide superstars in the making (Davis, Lillard) and many players who may eventually put it together.

that being said I think it was overhyped a bit. Good draft but with comparisons to '03 and '84 being made, I don't think it is anywhere near that level.

Good draft. Then again, so was 2011 but people wanted to harp on how average it was. Yet, there are good players all over that draft.

It was supposed to be a deep draft, not necessarily a superstar filled draft. Essentially, I think roughly 20 of the 1st round picks were expected to be role players or better and be able to stay in the NBA.

The 2011 draft is even better in that regard.

It was a good draft, and it will only seem better with time.
We will look back at 2012 as the Davis, Drummond, Lillard, Waiters, Gillchrist, Beal, Royce White draft.

apologies to Harrison Barnes, Thomas Robinson, and Terrence Ross.
The rest I think will become all-stars/ borderline all-stars. And that includes Royce White.

Can't necessarily make that claim when this draft class s barely halfway through their first season. In fact, I don't think you could start making any claim like this until both draft classes have 2-3 full seasons of work to judge them on.

Maybe you're right. In that case, we can't make any claims. Which is fair.

2012 has three possible HOF talents imo Drummond, Davis, and Lillard, and a few all star caliber talents to boot in Waiters, MKG, and Beal. Not to mention a lot of potentially top tier role players like Barnes, Robinson, etc.

Still way too early to tell if this is going to be a 2003 level draft, but the potential is there. If everything goes swimmingly we could have two top 10 C's of all time from this draft, and a top 10 PG, not to mention a few all star selections at SG/SF. I like the draft, but i'd like it alot more if the Cavs had drafted Drummond.
