i know that. they were really supposed to trade pau. but at that point in time, i think they could have gotten a better deal elsewhere than to trade with the lakers.

right now, bottomline is that the Grizz just got lucky that everything else that they did after the trade went well. but if we all go back to 2008, we all would've thought that the present value that the lakers got were much higher than what the Grizz got. fortunately, the Grizz got lucky.

Carmelo, Chauncey, fillers for W.Chandler, Felton, Gallinari , Mozgov plus picks.

both teams got the best out of the deal, building their identity with their new players respectively. Knicks getting a star they want to build around, Nuggets filling their roster with a collection of very good players and building on a team-first policy. Not lopsided at all imo.

They traded Curry for a draft pick, which eventually became Noah. This shouldn't be considered a steal because you obviously can't tell how your draft pick is going to result. It's like saying the Clippers traded Baron Davis and Kyrie Irving for Mo Williams.

Where does this Cavs' move rate?

The right to draft Kyrie Irving for Mo Williams, Jamario Moon and one year of paying Baron Davis' contract... ?

Has to be up there.

If it isn't, it will be in the next 10 years probably. Guess it's not the same thing because Irving went number 1 overall but could end up similar to the Dirk for Tractor Traylor deal. Obviously not as lopsided right now but 10 years from now depending on what Kyrie do, pretty much gifting another team a truly special player.

Pistons trading Chucky Atkins, Lindsey Hunter, Bob Sura, Zeljko Rebraca and two #1's for Rasheed Wallace and Mike James. Hunter was released and re-signed with the Pistons. No Sheed, no title.

True. He is only in his second year. As great as he's been, something tragic could happen to knock it from the "greatest move" category.

So interesting to think about where the Clippers may be if they had held on to that pick. Drafting Irving at No. 1 probably would have changed their entire approach to building their contender.

They may have also held on to Gordon. Or, maybe they make a push for Dwight Howard instead of CP3 last year? Crazy to think about.
