Default Chalmers claims he's a top 10 pg

Quote:
Id say top 10, the Miami Heat fifth-year man said of where he ranks. Im not in the lower part (of the top 10), Im in the middle part. I just have confidence in myself. I think I can compete with the best of them.

Not only that but he's in the middle part. So like 4-7? lol

I love the confidence, and thats precisely why hes able to perform in the clutch and step up in big situations(NCAA,Both finals), but I've watched him his whole career. Although he has improved drastically from his rookie year, he still has some of the same flaws and is a limited player. Even If he were to be given the green light on the bad team, he wouldnt be able to make a big impact. Some of his flaws include terrible lateral movement causing people to blow past him too much, gambling too much for steals on defense, and he is incapable of creating off the dribble(although he CAN but thats due to the lack of respect opposition has to his offensive game). In my opinion he is basically a derek fisher type of player that is a little more athletic. He is overrated as a man/perimeter defender just due to the steals. He is also pretty inconsistent and makes bonehead plays and misses open layups frequently(Especially early in his careeer). I love mario as a player and he was a steal in the 2008 draft being a 2nd rd pick but no....

Some pgs better than him with no doubt
Westbrook,Rondo,Rose, Paul,Deron,Kyrie, Holiday,parker, Lillard,wall,walker , curry And more...

He's not a top 10 pg obviously but it's the confidence that carries over. Like those 25 pt games in the finals.

Not even top 10 in the eastern conference, let alone the league. Just in the east:

Rondo
Rose
D-Will
Holiday
Irving
Jennings
Felton
Calderon
Wall
Nelson
George Hill
Teague

That's 12 eastern PGs all better than him, and I haven't even looked at the Western conference.

I'd say he is in the discussion. He's fantastic and one of the elite defensive PG's in the league. Also, he's a PG but he barely even gets to hold the ball because D-Wade and Lebron have it pretty much all the time. Chalmers would be a 15+ppg kinda guy if he got to control the ball more and not share it Lebron and Wade. So that has to be taken into consideration.

Also Chalmers is clutch as fvukc. There is obviously the famous shot for Kansas but then also the finals when Chalmers completely assfecked OKC when Lebron went out with cramps. It was a fantastic performance by Chalmers.

There really are no elite defenders at the PG position.

His decision making is spotty but Chalmers would certainly be in the running for top 10 if he was in a different situation.

You act like 2011 was his rookie year.

He had already been in the league a few years without Lebron and Bosh and did not average 15 ppg and was not anywhere near a top 10 PG.

Sorry if you were just joking, i couldn't tell. It seems like you weren't though.

As a top ten point guard? Not even close. Look at the list I made above. Can you honestly say he's better than any of those guys, and that's just in his own conference. What about Paul, Parker, Westbrook, Curry, Nash, Lin,Conley,Dragic,Lawson out West? There's at least 10 guys in either conference who are dramatically better, a good deal better, slightly better, or no worse, so how can he even dream of being in the discussion for top 10 overall? Yeah, dude comes up with some clutch plays but let's not mistake that for him being anything resembling an elite PG.

To be fair pre decision wade was very ball dominant. And mario was like fifth when it came to ball touches as it went 1. Wade 2. Marion/Jo 3. Haslem 4. Beasley. Possibly even q rich more so than him. Plus he got benched for arroyo and rafer for periods of time, but his play is partly responsible for that. He was never really given a chance and even if he were the heat ran an iso heavy offense and hes not very good at creating or scoring off the dribble. And during his earlier years he was incapable of driving in, more so than today. Only chance he gets of scoring high was hitting a bunch of threes off of wade passes but hes not consistent enough.
