Hes gotten better since the Big 3 arrived, but that may be due to them covering up his flaws. Hes certainly confident.
The thing that bothers me is that at times hes too passive, when in fact he has a great dribble drive. Hes very swift with the ball and can get to the ring even with a decent amount of traffic in the paint. Only problem is, he can sometimes be the victim of the million dollar moves, but 2 cent finish.
In a league that has Jeremy Lin starting at PG, Chalmers probably is right.
PG is a very strong position at the moment. Probably the strongest its ever been in league history.
You have guys like Paul, Rose, Westbrook, Rondo, Parker, etc. Then you have another double-double guy like Deron who isn't really considered in the top echelon anymore, yet he puts up amazing stats. Got a great crop of young up and comers like Jrue Holiday, Lillard, Curry, Teague, etc.
Even the average crop are quite good like Jennings, Jarret Jack, Conley, Lawson, etc.
I'd say he is in the discussion. He's fantastic and one of the elite defensive PG's in the league. Also, he's a PG but he barely even gets to hold the ball because D-Wade and Lebron have it pretty much all the time. Chalmers would be a 15+ppg kinda guy if he got to control the ball more and not share it Lebron and Wade. So that has to be taken into consideration.
Also Chalmers is clutch as fvukc. There is obviously the famous shot for Kansas but then also the finals when Chalmers completely assfecked OKC when Lebron went out with cramps. It was a fantastic performance by Chalmers.
In the discussion for top 10? If that's the case, then that does not reflect well at all on Lebron for dominating the ball every play. More so than even Wade, who is clearly #2 behind James.
If Chalmers is a top 10 PG and he doesn't score, doesn't create make big passes, doesn't offense at any high level, due to Lebron hogging the ball, then that says a lot of bad things about James.

Ive seen Mario not defer to Lebron or Wade several times. I like the attitude. Its like Jordan Crawford saying he is better than MJ. Guys play better when their confident about their skills not questioning how average they are. Some teams need guys with attidudes like this. Couple years ago ZBO thought he was the best PF in the game and he vocally stated this. Now, he doesnt have the swagger after the injuries and wouldnt dare mention it again.
I don't think he would be a big playmaking pg if he were in a different situation. I don't think he would be anything more than a mediocre pg scorer 13-15ppg... I think of him as more of a shooter...meaning he's in the perfect situation and he still doesn't consistently deliver.
