Mr. NBA has an OK reputation so far
Default How much potential does Ed Davis have?

I havent seen too many Raptors game this year. I thought he would be just a paint defender and nabbing rebounds. Is his game suited for half court basketball?

Davis is extremely underrated. he didn't get a fair shake in Toronto imo, and he always shot high% when he got the shots and time. he plays really strong and is at the right place at the right time often. its just lame he's going to Memphis behind Randolph where he'll only get part time run. Toronto was holding him back, and now Memphis is holding him back even more if he's smart he's going to take the first opportunity to go somewhere else with a guaranteed starting position or at least 30 min's a night with shots and get a fat contract. he's not dazzling but he's like much better version of hakeem warrick.

Realistically, I think he tops out as a good bench player (on a good team). Definitely worthy of giving 25-28 minutes per game. Not good enough to be a starter on a great team. He gets pushed around on D a bit and isn't the most skilled guy when it comes to scoring and creating opportunities for himself in the post.

Overall impact, similar to what Amir Johnson is doing now. Solid player.

he reminds me of Antonio Davis a lot. good touch around the rim, okay shot blocker. not the best hands in the world but will catch and finish in the paint if he gets a good pass. he's a throwback PF in every sense. Get's into foul trouble, inconsistent shot.

if he can knock down some jumpers and polish his offensive game he could be a starter on a good team, if not, will still have a long career in the league.

That's his biggest downfall. He can't catch anything. He needs to work on that.

yea i think he's just rushing and playing too fast. he's thinking dunk before the ball reaches his hands. hopefully it's that...well hopefully for Memphis it is.

We traded Rudy Gay for a serviceable big than? I know Ed hasnt bloomed yet, but is this what you see for him in the future? Maybe he will get some post moves with Zbo.

he ha a good back to the basket game but his face up game is still a work in progress. he has a nice jump hook which is most of the time money.

i think he will eventually be the guy that replaces Zbo. much higher ceiling than speights, probably the reason they traded him so they could make way for Davis.

he's more than serviceable though. he plays like a hungry dog, he will literally play harder than anyone on the court, sometimes to a fault and get into foul trouble but its a good problem to have with a young big
