Default Indiana Pacers want Bledsoe for Danny Granger

Just read on ESPN Insider that the Pacers top target right now is Eric Bledsoe and they would likely swap Danny Granger for him. Seems like they are rightfully clearing the wing spot for their young star Paul George. I say hell yes to this trade as long as Indy takes Butler too (would have to anyways to match cap).

lol seriously? I wouldnt even trade Blatche for Bledsoe lol, let alone an all star player like Granger. During the past few games Bledsoe started, it was clear that he aint a starter-caliber player. Are the Pacers so desperate? Or do they just want to get rid of Granger now that Paul George is emerging?

wow. didnt see this coming. hill has been GREAT for the pacers this season. but i definitely see why they do this(they wanna keep paul george as "the man"). i wonder if bledsoe would take over the starting pg spot or would he continue to come off the bench for indy.

Bledsoe is averaging about 13 ppg, 6 rpg, 5 apg, 1.5 bpg and 2.5 spg since CP3 went out in about 25 minutes a game. Nothing wrong with those numbers. He still isn't ready to be a full time floor general but he has fantastic upside. Also Indy clears the spot permanently for George and long term has more cap (Butler expires next year).

Not until Granger proves he is healthy. Even then, I'm iffy, don't see Granger putting the Clips over the top. Not to mention his age and salary for next year.

Would much rather do Odom + Bleds + Trey + First for KG + Melo + Barbs or something along those lines.

What would Granger's role be in LA?

No man... just no. Granger is pretty much ready to go and nearly 100 percent and is a superior player to Bledsoe. He's only 29 so he's got a few good years left and he fills a big need at the SF spot with his defense, rebounding and ability to score 20 at any time reliably.

I absolutely DO see Granger putting us over the top with his versatility and he would give us a legit "big 3" with Griffin and CP3. Not that a big 3 is everything but it's great to have that core then have surrounding pieces like DJ+Crawford.

KG is 36 years old man. He's a great player and fit but not at his age as a long term fix. Melo is WAY too ball dominant to fit our system and roster although obviously he would be a great player to have. Granger would be a perfect 2nd or 3rd option.

This is the answer I was looking for.

Question for both of you...what do you do with Butler if you can acquire Granger?

Butler or Odom would need to go out in order to make cap work, so he will likely go. As for Granger=Butler that's flat out wrong. Butler has basically become a corner 3 point specialist who only plays well on defense about 30 percent of the time, sucks at passing, sucks at rebounding and is EXTREMELY streaky. Guy will have a 30 point game followed by 5 straight games of less than 10 points.

I think comparing prime Butler to Granger may be fair but don't forget Butler has declined RAPIDLY the last 3 seasons. Dude is putting up like 9 ppg this year.
