It doesn't matter what Kobe does. Kobe can score 30, 40, 50 or 60 points all he wants or even average a triple double for 2 months straight. Their team defense sucks. That's their real problem. I don't see why him scoring 30 plus has to do with anything.
No Kobe scoring is the problem. Everything is blamed on Kobe and his scoring. Don't you know the Lakers would be blowing out teams if Kobe averaged 10 points a game. All praise the ISH analysts

Nah, if he would average a triple double (at least 10 rebounds and 10 assists) they would most definitely play MUCH better as opposed to him simply just scoring........
Kobe averaging 10 rebounds is going to offer his team:
More opportunities to score, and give the opposing team less opportunities to score... more 2nd chance points for you and less for opponents...
Improve their scoring percentage. Often, offensive rebounds are put-backs from close in. These are easy shots that often go in. Additionally, defensive rebounds that end in a great pass often allow for a fast break score before the defense on the other team can even get set up. These are also high percentage shots. Great plays start with a great rebound; the better you are at it, the higher your team’s percentage will go....... also when your team cleans up the boards they stop the opponents from running all the time....
More free throws, and it also might cause trouble for the opposing team over fouls
Further more leading by example, rebounding that much especially for a guy Kobes size, position and game shows that he has even more heart, persistance, will.... and will give even more basketball defense... When your leader has this will & heart in this department then it usually spill over to your teammates and when your team has will & heart then it usually spills over to your defensive side of the court aswell....
Kobe averaging 10 assists is going to offer his team:
Bond.... make his teammates feel so good with their respective games and it will help the players bond better, especially with Kobe and his new mindset, unselfishness....
Better shooting percentage from the two-point to three-point range. The team shoots well and will have a better shooting percentage since open players whether they are inside or outside the shaded lane will be benefited....
A passing team with good shooting percentage will need not exert two much effort and spend much energy in grabbing the offensive rebounds off missed shots....
It will also break the defense of the opponents much more. The much vaunted offensive strategies, for example the Pick and Roll plays rely on the sound passing skills of players to create space for higher percentage shot or a chance to break away from defenders for an easy lay-up or a dunk....

Although Kobe has gotten a trip-dub this season but you asking a shooting guard to average triple doubles?
Kobe may still be at the end of his prime but he's not going to do that and he's surely not going to do that on a nightly basis with a run-you-to-the-ground offense.

Kobe can definitely battle for more rebounds, but its not a must... i was just speaking to the OP, what would happen if he really did average 10 rebounds at least...
But what he can do and should do is to get his teammates involved more often, by creating for them, not giving them the ball going "Here you go, do something".. but CREATING for them... there is a difference....
He most definitely can average much more assists... that he isnt a good passer is just a myth, he is an excellent passer... but... his mindset is completely different and it always was... he wants to score and he thinks thats the only way to win the game and the only way HE can impact the game...
Speaking of Kobe being at the end of his prime, i disagree... i dont care how old Kobe is or how high he can/cant jump anymore, he is right now playing as good as he ever has and is as productive as he ever was.... infact, he certainly is playing his most efficient basketball of his career... thats more like an improvement rather than decline...

We have seen him do it in the past where he can play scorer or facilitator with the blink of an eye.
If he's scoring more as of late, he's obviously seeing something on the court where he knows his teammates can't do anything and has to carry the load.
Kobe isn't the problem....the Lakers problem goes far beyond that.
What did I tell you? Lakers almost lost. Blew a 18 point lead against the Hornets. BLEW A 18 POINT LEAD AGAINST THE HORNETS! It don't matter if Kobe gets a triple double or close to it. Defense is their main problem.
Once again, i'm right. Tell me i'm not right about what I said?
Tell how kobes offense wasn't part of the problem? 17 points on 17 shots and 9 assist on 6 turnovers. Good offense alright. He has clearly focus more on force feeding over chucking. Kobe had an open layup every nba player should land.
