Default Heat/King Fans: Bosh for Cousins?

To all the Heat and Kings fans, would you trade Bosh for Cousins?

If I'm in the Heats front office I would jump all over that trade, maybe not so much if I'm in the Kings front office.

Bad trade for the Heat, Cousins normally refuses to play on the inside and takes mid range shots which he hits roughly 31% of the time, Bosh is a far better fit for the Heat and Cousins is a better fit for the Kings. With Cousins there it would further clog the lane I hate Bosh and am a Cousins fan but no way ethier team does this trade (well maybe the Kings do actually). On top of that Bosh is fairly stable while Cousins will show up for 5 games than not bother in the next 2-4.

You don't break up a winning formula and on top of the that the Kings would have to give up another piece valuable piece in Thompson, Evans or Thornton to make it work contract wise.

I've been calling on this deal to happen since Cousin's rookie year >>>> http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=198459. Seems to me that the Heat would be better with a big physical player in the middle, while the Kings need an established player to build around.

Bosh would demand a trade or want to leave after 1-2 games after seeing what hes surrounded by. This team is worse than the ones he had in Toronto and the coach is far worse than Sam Mitchell.

I doubt the Heat will ever trade Bosh as long as he wants to be there. Would be a dick move to the guy who's sacrificed a lot for the team, it's not his fault there are no rebounders on the team.

Never mind that the salaries don't even remotely work

Heat aren't about to make a headcase a central piece

Neither team does this

So Bosh took less money to go to the Heat, and he doesn't have a no trade clause? Right.

This loyalty thing is good in theory, but a GM's job is to make a team that can maintain success the longest. If Riley feels that he has an opportunity to make his team better and doesn't take it just based on "loyalty" he should be fired.

The Kings have several players that could be combined with Cousins to make the trade work. Adding any one of these guys should be enough to make a trade happen >>>>>
  • John Salmons - 3 years @ $8,080,000 $7,580,000 and $7,000,000
  • Marcus Thornton - 3 years @ $7,632,500 $8,165,000 and $8,697,500
  • Francisco Garcia - 1 year @ $6,100,000
  • Chuck Hayes - 4 years @ $5,486,250 $5,722,500 and $5,958,750
  • Jason Thompson - 5 years @ $5,250,000 $5,643,750 $6,037,500 $6,431,250 and $6,825,000

I'm pretty sure he didn't qualify for a no trade clause. Bosh only played 7 years with the Raptors when he negotiated his sign and trade to the Heat and according to Larry Coon's Salary Cap FAQ "the player has [to have] been in the NBA for at least eight seasons" to be eligible for a no-trade clause >>>> http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q97

Quote:
98. When can't a player be traded? Can players be given "no-trade" clauses in their contracts?

A "no-trade" clause prevents the team from trading the player without the player's consent. A no-trade clause can be negotiated into a new contract if the player has been in the NBA for at least eight seasons, and has played for the team with which he is signing for at least four seasons. They don't have to be the four most recent seasons -- for example, Horace Grant received a no-trade clause from Orlando when he signed with them in 2001. He had played for Orlando for the requisite four seasons, but had played for Seattle and Los Angeles in the interim. Very few players actually have one of these negotiated no-trade provisions (currently only Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett and Dirk Nowitzki have them).

Bosh for Cousins? Are you serious? Bosh knows his role, he's a great teammate and the fact that he's a much better player. He has that sweet jumpshot that opens up the lanes for Lebron and Wade. Also last playoffs showed how valuable and important Bosh is for Miami.

If Bosh was playing in Sac without Lebron and Wade he'd be averaging 25ppg.

Bosh wouldn't average 25ppg playing with Evans and Garcia. Bosh is a soft baseline jump shooter, who doesn't fit in with the Heat actually. Heat need a rebounder.

Bosh fits perfectly with Miami and he's more than a soft jump shooter.
