Re: Newtown sides with the NRA, votes to put armed guard in schools
What's happening in US is really sad from an outsider POV, your love for guns is so deep you can't even let go of one type of weapon that its only use is to kill a lot of people in a very short span of time. I honestly can't understand how people think an armed guard can stop a maniac armed to teeth with a death wish for all and himself. Unless you realize regular mass shootings happen in direct relation with the gun loving culture of yours, you will never be able to confront the problem.

Your ignorance is really sad from any perspective. There are millions and millions of AR15s in the US that are used legally every single day, very few have ever been used to commit a crime. Only 2.5% of gun murders are committed with rifles. The idea that an AR15's "only purpose" is to "kill a lot of people" is just pure bullshit.
You are more likely to die from diarrhea, the flu, drowning in a swimming pool, a tornado and a million other things than you are to get killed in a mass shooting.

here is the point. Why are assault weapons chosen by these psychos living out their tough guy fantasies, rather than a simple hunting rifle? Because of image. They think they look tough or cool carrying something that looks like a military weapon. There is no doubt that much of the appeal of guns is the imagery associated with it (look at most of the which gun should I buy threads on this site, for example). Now, I really think this ban is the least of the proposals moving forward (though I do think a clip size limit is a good idea), but there is no doubt that the image of these guns plays a part in their use by these psychos.
Re: Newtown sides with the NRA, votes to put armed guard in schools
Nothing factual to debate. You think image plays a part in the killing, i think that psychos will kill you with whatever they get their hands on, neither of us can prove our claims so agree to disagree. Instead of banning certain guns, I think we should find out whatever is putting these people over the edge in the first place and do something about it

I expected you to not get my point and it's not sad cause now I know you are just stupid.

Terrible solution. Armed guards is a bad idea.
Should put more funding into having police officers at/near schools. Not police patrolling 24/7 but rather, a small office or something with patrol cars nearby during the day.

A former Navy Seal who went on to write a bestselling book chronicling his life as the US's most prolific marksman has been shot dead at a gun range in Texas.
If only there were people with guns around to save this poor man.

It's an 11,000 acre ranch. It took 2 hours for anybody to even realize they were dead. He shot them in the back and they never had a chance.
Why don't you talk about the high school basketball coach who shot and killed 2 gun-wielding attackers while he was escorting 2 of his players to their cars? It happened 2 days ago.
