Did you even bother watching him? He wasn't that good. Did you happen to realize that the Ravens played in the most number of postseason games? Outside of the Niners, all other teams played in 2 or less games. 9 of the top 10 tacklers in the postseason were either Ravens or Niners. A bit of common sense would tell you something here.

And yes, I know he had a decent amount more tackles than the #2 guy, but you're talking tackles here.

And the fact of the matter is that Joe Montana is considered by I think most to be the GOAT QB. Was he the best talent wise? No. Was he the best stat wise? No. Did he have a wonderful team around him? Yes. But What sets him apart? 4-0. That's what does.

It's because people were looking for something to separate QBs in judging them, so some thought, 'hey, let's use SB wins!' and then pretty much ignored everything else. If you want to make a lazy argument then, yeah, you spout the SB rings line. It's easy, it's convenient and it doesn't take much thinking, so it's not hard to see why it caught on. Not to say it's a horrible argument, but I think people value some things too highly while not valuing others enough.

Yes that is why I pointed out the he had about the same amount of tackles as Willis and Bowman combined...and what do mean "we are talking about tackles"...that's what MLBs do...tackle

IMO Lewis was great this post season...he isn't 2000 Lewis but he is still a top 5 MLB and a big part of that D.

OK, so you didn't watch him. He had trouble getting off blocks, dropped a really easy interception, and looked like he lost many steps. The position is set up for him to make tackles. It's what he's supposed to do. It doesn't mean he was great. He was alright.

It's not an official stat. You can get credit for an assist, which counts as a tackle, for jumping onto a pile. Here's an article: http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/story/2...stats-inflated

Lewis wasn't great this postseason. He actually was a weakness, teams were spreading out Baltimore and passing toward his direction. He also doesn't like leaving the field so it's not even a fixable issue. How did you arrive at the conclusion he was great?

I saw him on the field making more tackles than everyone else...just because he isn't prime Lewis doesn't mean he was a weakness...I think he was still one of the better MLBs this season

And clearly he wasn't that big of a weakness, he is the leader of a great defense that won the Super Bowl...

Ask the rest of that Ravens D if Ray Lewis was a weakness this year and see the replies you get...

It's clear that Ray Lewis did struggle at times on the field and wasn't a dominant player, but what he provides for that team is intangible.

He was an integral part of the defense.

As a Giants fan, I'll take the rings that Eli has. You can have Romo and his stats.

I wasn't comparing each franchises history. I was comparing Eli and Romo, and what each has done.
