Any and every player can say the same thing. You should stick to the main premise that its more than just a QB that wins games. Nothing you can say about Romo is going to convince anyone that Romo or the Cowboys has anything to do with a SB. You can blame anything or anyone for it but they were never good enough to win it because they didnt.

yes, the team, coaches included, were never good enough
I don't think you can say it about just ANY QB though...I think the QB position is important enough to where if the QB was Jamarcus Russell he couldn't win a ring with the 2000 Ravens defense...or rookie Blaine Gabbert, or etc
But Dilfer and Brad Johnson were both below average QBs who have won rings in the modern era of the NFL
Re: Wish people didn't make this all about the QBs
Remember when Sanchez was making AFC Championships in back to back years.....then the team got worse, and they started missing the playoffs completely.
Tom Brady won three super bowl.....got way better.....got way more weapons...and hasn't won a title since. Because his team (mostly the defense) hasn't been the same turnover, shutdown defense.
Peyton Manning won a superbowl....while playing two terrible games in the playoffs....because the team we had picked it up. He has played much better on a personal level in the playoffs only to find himself one and done because the team around him didn't perform.
The one year Drew Brees has a defense that plays well in NO he wins a title....
You know which teams I fear playing? The ones with the best all-around talent. Not Brees with no defense. Not Rodgers with a defense that teams score 45, 37, 51 points on in playoff loses.
The fact that Rodgers isn't in a superbowl every year makes this whole argument dumb. He's the best quarterback in the league...and has one title in five years.....because the players around him stepped it up for that one year.
Nobody wins it by themselves. Whoever said Brady was winning by himself clearly doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. Brady had an elite team around him. Full of playmakers....just not at WR.
Ravens
Giants
Packers
Saints
Steelers
Giants
Colts
Steelers
Pats
Pats
Bucs
Pats
Ravens
Rams
Broncos
Broncos
Cowboys & 49'ers....
All those were elite TEAMS playing at an extremely high level in the playoffs. Not one there where I say to myself...yeah...the QB just single handedly took that team to a title. They were all-around team efforts that had it not been for the total team, those QB's wouldn't have as many, or a ring.
Re: Wish people didn't make this all about the QBs
exactly...BOTH SF and BAL were solid teams from top to bottom...it was much much more than Flacco and Kaepernick
one aspect of both of those teams that no one really talked about is that they might have had the 2 best offensive lines in the NFL...or at least both were top-5. Huge brutal and physical o-lines.
both teams were overly physical in general...if you were playing Bal or SF this year then you played smashmouth football that game

I said Brady has won a superbowl mostly alone one time specifically where he didnt have a great defense. It was about average but it had timely turnovers.
Peyton won his only SB because he had weapons and a very good defense.
Romo and the Cowboys just wasnt good enough or couldnt overcome injuries.
Offensively both SF and Bal had the QB's playing at an extremely high level but it was about which defense could make the plays necessary and to me which kicker could be dependable.
And I do see the point where QB's get too much credit when its clearly about TEAM.

Re: Wish people didn't make this all about the QBs
Tom Brady tossed one touchdowns in his first superbowl run. If the math is right, under 6 yards per attempt...which is beyond terrible. He got hurt and Bledsoe came in and the team won the playoff game.
Brady was on some rookie QB, don't make the big mistake check down shit that year. It was his defense that didn't allow more than 17 points a game in the playoffs. It was the defense that forced four turnovers vs Pitt....then shut down the great Rams offense and forced 3 touchdowns and scored a touchdown in the superbowl.
Second playoff run they had the #6 scoring defense throughout the reg season and continued it in the playoffs forcing 6 turnovers in the first two playoff games and only allowing 14 points per game. Superbowl they let up some points and didn't get an insane amount of turnovers...offense stepped up... TEAM GAME.
Third run they had the #1 scoring defense..... and in playoffs shut down the high scoring offense of Colts at their peak....allowing 3 points and forcing 3 turnovers....
Next playoff game the defense gets four more turnovers vs Steelers and scored a touchdown.
Then in the superbowl forced four more turnovers.....
Show me where Tom Brady led them without a good defense.
