Decent article, this is definitly NOT a make or break year for Sam.
IMO this year he is going into is actually one of his worst in terms of weapons...SJax is GONE, his top WR is a 5'8" rookie, the next two are sophmores who have barely played either.
They did snag Jake Long but he is no longer viewed as an elite tackle as he can't stay healthy...
It is absolutely inexcusable that they let all of those FA WRs get by them over the years...Vincent, Marshall, Jennings, etc etc etc...the list is endless, get this man a vet WR for the love if god.
But time out...is that chart saying the Romo and Sam did the best in clutch situations last year? Wow, that's about the oposite of what fans actually think.
I don't tho k QBR differentiates what's "clutch" and what's "garbage time stats". Dwayne Bowe scores a TD in the last minute of each game it seems, but its not clutch when you're down 40.
Make or break year for sure. Cant continue to keep giving him pass after pass after pass.
pass after pass after pass?...he has been playing good, read the article, it was written for people like you who never watch Sam but have the misconception that he has been playing poorly
rookie year he won ROY, they couldn't have been more pleased
sophomore year he did slump a bit, but him and much his team was injured
last year they were very pleased with him, he was 2nd the NFL in clutch situations like they showed and showed great growth
if you think Bradford will never start again in the NFL if he has another 85ish rating you're wrong, and you're foolish...his talents are wanted
"There's a number of friends of mine in the league that know the league, and I had one of them tell me during the process that they thought Sam may be one of the better quarterbacks -- or the best quarterback -- in the league, he just hasn't had a chance to prove it yet," head coach Jeff Fisher said on ESPN's Mike and Mike in the Morning. "That weighed very heavily in my opinion. Very, very impressive player. I think he has a tremendous upside."
“His play was directly affected by the people around him. There’s times when it’s difficult to step up in the pocket and make the good throw. That’s not the quarterback’s fault. That’s whatever’s going on out front,” Fisher said, via SportsRadioInterviews.com. “We’re pleased with what Sam did. He’s got an exciting future. I know he’s really excited about coming back in here in April and getting started and not having to learn another offense.”
the other thing is that Fisher was lured to St. Louis with Sam...he didn't want to go somewhere that didn't have a QB, he liked Bradford even AFTER his bad sophomore year and felt that was the QB of their future
It's pretty damn close to make or break. I really like him and want to see him do well. If he can put together a decent season with what he has, I'd be a true believer in his abilities.
For those of you that think this actually is a make or break year for Sam, what is it do you think he has to accomplish in order to keep playing QB?
Not necessarily make or break for hist job with the Rams, but this is the year where he needs to define himself and set the stage for what his career is going to be. He has to make the jump from meh to good.

okay well he has been "good"
here is the problem, the problem is that fans and media view "TEAM" success and QB success as the same...let's be real, the Rams are going to have a hell of time making the post season next year with the Seahawks and 49ers in their divison who could very well be the 2 best teams in the entire NFL.
what I see happening is THIS...Sam will play "good" with his rookie crew of weapons, around a 85ish passer rating, this will earn him starting spot again the next year because it is the only intelligent move the Rams could make, however fans will wrongfully view him as a crappy QB just like they do right now...that is what I think WILL happen
either way, this year is NOT a 'make or break' year for Sam...not even close
