Eagles had 44 mil in cap space before the 5 cheap-side signings. Should have a ton left still.

If Fletcher is expected to be 1 starting CB, and there's no interest in Smith/Talib/Revis, maybe we want Milliner in the draft to be the other? Curious where Asomugha signs and for what kind of money at his age.

If Revis' season was a 10, Nnamdi was a 9.5

This year I can't say anything other than taking someone elses opinion on the matter as fact. I didn't track him at all.

But strictly talking about 2011....he was pretty much as shut down as you could realisically get in todays NFL.
Do you work for the NFL offices or some team? I want access to tapes or video you have that focuses on a position.

I dont know if any other corners that plays both sides of the field, slot, and TE's elite the way Revis does.

At least Revis won't be stuck on this crappy franchise anymore.

Yeah, I'm mad.
Sorry I am not happy that he will be going but the team overpaid some mediocre players. I personally just dont want a corner to make anything over 12 mill on this team. Nnamdi got paid his 15 mill but damn its just not worth it. I dont want a corner that wants to hold out every chance they get.

The way NFL players get paid and have contracts that are disposable they should get every cent possible. I just dont want the Jets to overpay.

Ravens

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/90...pollard-source

The Baltimore Ravens will release strong safety Bernard Pollard after he takes his physical Wednesday morning, according to a team source.

Pollard, 29, was the leading tackler last season for the Super Bowl champions and was the team's physical presence in the secondary. He forced a key fumble in the AFC Championship Game in New England, when he delivered a vicious hit on New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley.

Pollard broke the news of his upcoming release when he posted on Twitter: "Well Raven Nation it's been fun. My time in Baltimore is done... Thank you!"

Pollard finished his second season with the Ravens, leading the team with 98 tackles. He also had two sacks and an interception.

This offseason, the Ravens have already lost seven members from their Super Bowl team.

Baltimore has released Pollard and guard Bobbie Williams, traded wide receiver Anquan Boldin to the 49ers, lost linebackers Dannell Ellerbe and Paul Kruger in free agency and watched linebacker Ray Lewis and center Matt Birk retire.

They lose Lewis to retirement and two other starting LBs to free agency, traded Boldin, released their Strong Safety in Pollard and possibly losing Ed Reed also?

Are the Ravens having a fire sale or what?

Here's a question for you to answer. Why do YOU think he was bad/overrated in 2011?

Not what other people have said, what YOU THINK.
In 2011 I would say I watched roughly half of the Eagles games...Nnamdi was exposed to being completely clueless in a zone, his ineptitude was generally blamed on the Philly D coordinator/scheme rather than him. He was tried in the slot and even at safety a little bit.

His CB metrics according to PFF were average at best...they didn't record the same numbers that you did. He was middle of the pack while Revis was still elite AND glued to the other team's #1s.

In 2011 he was better than 2012, however he still wasn't even close to playing at the level that his paycheck suggested, which is TOP-2...he was getting Revis money.

Giants reportedly hosting Vikings lb Jasper Brinkley today. I know very little about this guy...anybody have a good scouting report? Where does he rank among FA linebackers?

also for you to know this, it requires more than just watching Revis and Nnamdi

for you to know that Nnamdi's play in 2011 warranted the PB, you would have had to watch EVERY CB in the NFL.

Default Re: 2013 Offseason Thread (Free Agency, Releases, Trades, etc)

those numbers for Nnmadi aren't "great" at all...4 TDs allowed

I also question them altogether due to the fact that Nnamdi had 3 INTs and you have him marked for just 2

also, I know you disagree/don't understand this...but in many cases it is impossible to know a zone from m2m for a CB...that is why PFF and other sites don't bother to seperate them

PFF says he had a "down year"

did you read what Kiper had to say?

Quote:
“Philadelphia’s decision to put Asomugha in a zone scheme early in the season was a mistake. But Asomugha isn’t on this list because he had a season that didn’t match some of his better campaigns in Oakland. His 8.2 overall YPA ranked tied for 57th out of 85 qualifying cornerbacks (32-plus targets to qualify). He was also subpar in vertical coverage (10.0 VYPA, tied for 48th) and in stretch vertical coverage (14.0 SVYPA, ranked 61st)“.

^^^ his numbers for Nnamdi 2011

2011 doesn't even matter that much really...fact is that his 2012 year was so bad it is beyond debate...there is NO ONE that will defend him for last year

not even the biggest Nnamdi apologist will make excuses for how he played last year...
